This is just what I was looking for! I have a terrible algae problem in one of my tanks. I have been relentlessly trying to eradicate it. I have many other cleaning tools that just didn't do the job on the really tough algae. I like the fact these are actual blades and they do cut through and scrape off the hard to remove stuff on the glass. I like that the blades are replaceable. It comes with 5 double edged blades and you can purchase more when you run out, I believe they are $8.99 for 10 double edged blades. Someone else had said there ought to be a more convenient way than the little screw, it's like when you change a blade on a box cutter, if you happened to lose the little wrench, a small Phillips head would work just as well. The head is flexible, and you can tighten it, but not tight enough if you applied a lot of pressure it wouldn't move. It stayed in place for me. All in all, I recommend this. It's a valuable tool. The brush is good for filters, ornaments etc. I thought it worked very well cleaning them off. I really just got it for the blade, but the brush is a bonus.

If I could, I would give this 6 or 7 stars. This tool is ideal for cleaning the glass on your tank. For years I used a single-edge razor blade mounted on a wooden stick which works quite well. This cleaner is way better, though. The blade is twice as wide as a standard razor blade, and are made of stainless steel, so they won't rust. The kit comes with a tool to change the blades and also adjust the angle of the blade and the brush. The handle screws to sections of solid aluminum rod. The blade assembly is interchangeable by simply unscrewing the blade and attaching the brush. The brush is great for getting corners or other surfaces in the tank clean. I found that it is also very useful for removing hair algae - the brush grabs and scoops it up with ease.If you need a cleaning system for your aquarium, do not hesitate to get this. It is well worth the money.

ITEM: FZONE Algae Scraper for Glass AquariumsPROS:- The construction quality is sturdy - one of the reasons I go online for my tools is that many of the in-store options are just too flimsy. Luckily not with this one.- The blades are SHARP. Be careful with them, but then also enjoy the results! My glass has never looked so good.NEUTRALS:- I’m not a fan of the blades using a hex screw. I feel like there are many other options that don’t require keeping track of a finicky tool (such as a threaded screw).- I found that the brush really doesn’t do much for my tank, so I didn’t have any use for it.CONS:- I initially thought the flexible head would be great, but it turned out to be more of a pain - moving too easily when I had to apply pressure to an area. It still works, but a little frustrating having to pull it out and readjust. I didn’t count that against the product though, as I didn’t realize my own needs here.- It’s not telescoping, which is a bit annoying in terms of storage and set-up/tear down. Is it the worst thing on earth? No. Am I still lazy and annoyed enough at having another chore to do? Yes.WOULD I PURCHASE? (Any prices noted are as of the time of writing): Maybe? I’m happy with it, but realized that with my particular needs, a lower priced fixed position scraper would work just as well or potentially better. At $18.99 this seems fair for the construction/quality, but oriented more towards those that need greater flexibility in their tanks. My rating system is: 5 = no/minimal complaints, very pleased 4 = minor complaints, overall satisfied, but could be better 3 = notable complaints, overall average to ‘meh’ 2 = significant complaints, unhappy and will not keep/use 1 = entirely complaints, misleading descriptions, straight to the trash product.

I just used this scraper to tidy up the front and sides of my iron-less glass aquarium. It was easy putting it together. The scraper came with 5 blades in a box and the tool for installation. the installation took less than a minute to complete . I was delighted to see diatom and green algae falling off the glass from both forward and backward motion. The one i had before would scratch my glass when pushed forward. Just make sure the blade angle adjusted correctly. It came in 3 sections for easy storage. I like the aluminum built for its aesthetic, light weight, and durability. the included brush is useful for cleaning the co2 diffuser and hard to reach area. definitely worth the investment for any aquarium enthusiast.

I purchased this as it is twice as wide as the other razor that I have been using. However on my tank, the blade dulls twice as fast. My tank is a 150 gallon mixed reef tank so I'm always scraping hard green algae as well as the lovely Coraline Algae that is as hard as rock, but the description says "Suitable for Freshwater and Saltwater Tanks". Need to find some hardened blades because just on my front glass, it takes both sides of the blade, and even then, it starts missing places due to the blade folding over. The plastic handle also bends very easy and I'm worried I'm going to break it. The head will not bolt down tight enough without breaking the plastic so any kind of pressure will adjust the head no matter how tight the bolt. I ended up just gluing the head at an angle which kind of defeats the purpose of an adjustable head. But beyond dull blades, weak handle and ever adjusting head angle, it's great.
