Original was steel, and rusted out over time. NEW one is mostly Aluminum, and thus, should last a lot longer. Be sure to flush your P/S System. I "primed" this replacement P/S Oil Cooler with P/S Fluid, prior to install, using a MixMizer Syringe. This worked really well. The syringe holds roughly 50 cc's. It took 5 injections to fill the cooler. Cooler came with caps on the two pipe ends, so after priming and capping the pipe ends, it was a breeze to install. The issue, of course, is that to get at the cooler, you have to remove the Front Grill and Fascia.

The mystery oil leak in front of radiator ended up being from the corroded power steering cooler I never knew existed. I just ended up pulling the entire front bumper off but I should have just swapped it from underneath by flexing that plastic shroud that is impossible to remove. I just filled the reservoir back up and all seems normal

Thinking the unit was similar to the Dorman due to the photos, I paid more than I had to. In the end, the unit was identical to the less expensive ones offered on Amazon. Other than that, it installed without any problems.

Looks just like the factory cooler, bolt holes lined up perfect. the hose ends were in the factory location. It's been installed about 4 weeks now with no issues.

Packaging was ok, a few of the fins were bent inside the package. The hardest part with the install is getting to it (GM dropped the ball on this design) once the grill and bumper cover were off it was a 10 minute install, 3 hours of cuss words gettimg the bumper cover off and back on. We shall see how it holds up, the original was on the truck for 15 years. I guess a leaky cooler is common on trailblazers and this was a cheap fix, glad i found it as the local parts stores wanted 3 times the amount for the same thing.
