So worth the money! I went through so many command strips to hang up a sign on my front door that is directly in sunlight and they would always melt off. This has been on there for months now and is still going strong!!

I purchased this hook exactly 4 years ago to hang a seasonal wreath on my front door. It’s been exposed to the constantly changing Colorado weather (110 to -19, insane winds, tornadoes, etc). Today it finally separated from the door in the most undramatic fashion, in that it took me about 10 minutes to figure out why my wreath was falling as was not obvious to see it had come apart from the glass.Anyway, if you’re looking for a versatile hanger that will last this is the one for you. It’s expensive but so worth it in the long run.

Note, the surface MUST be flat and without texture - will not stick to drywall. But they warn you of that. They work perfectly on glass, glazed ceramic (we have one on our sink for a handtowel), and all the back of the doors in our place. They work perfect for when you don’t want to hammer in a nail. I can put them up to dry laundry that isn’t dryer friendly 😉 and take them back down again when it’s dry.

why don't they make all suction things like this? Works perfectly, I've had two of these for over 5 years and have never had to move them so I bought a few more. This is amazing technology and I want to use these to hold up the other items in my bathroom that keep slipping or falling.

Update: 5 years later this hook is still going strong on my Alabama front glass door!!I was skeptical about this product working on my front door due to many other failed products, including cling hooks, but have been amazed! Read about it on a blog found via Pinterest as I really didn't want and over the door hanger ot to jimmy rig some fishing line over my glass door and thought I'd give it a go. Even in the heat and humidity of Alabama summer, this buddy hasn't budged! I made sure I followed the directions to a T. It looks big up close, but from the end of the driveway you don't notice the hook since it's clear.Update: this hook had been holding up door hangers on my glass door through an Alabama blizzard and 2 sweltering summers and hasn't moved a bit! A year and a half later and it isn't going anywhere!! Would purchase again, but it is so awesome it looks like I wont have to!

*updated March 2022: this thing is still sticking and we’ve not had ANY problems, even with our heavy, real wreaths we get each Christmas. Worth every penny!I bought this back in March 2017 (currently Nov) and have had it on an inside my storm door on the glass portion of my front door. I followed the instructions exactly and this has held all of my wreaths up without a problem! I'd say most are under the 5 lb mark, but some may be really pushing it. I've had to problems with anything falling, but I haven't attempted to move it. I would definitely buy this again.

I am not fond of being wakened at midnight by the sound of my bath brush hitting the shower floor after the suction hook releases. The "GeckoTech Reusable Hook" seemed to be a good alternative to suction hooks. Through an abundance of caution, I chose to purchase the 5 lb. "GeckoTech Hook". Primarily because of the surface to which the "GeckoTech Hook" was applied, I am glad I did.The backing surface of the "GeckoTech Reusable Hook, 5 lb." measures approximately 4" X 4". That is the exact size of the high gloss ceramic tile in the shower. While the surface of the tile is slick and smooth, it does have a slightly rippled "texture". By having the larger backing of the 5 lb. GeckoTech, there was enough contact to insure adhesion. I do not think a smaller backing would have provided enough surface contact on this "rippled" tile.Based on my observations, I do not believe these hooks would work well on a textured surface or on a matte finish tile. I would not use them to hang anything of value or would not use them to hang anything over something that could be damaged by a falling object. Further, because the instructions recommend cleaning the surface to which the GeckoTech Reusable Hook is to be applied with rubbing alcohol, it may not be advisable to use them on more delicate surface finishes. The "GeckoTech Reusable Hook" worked for my purposes and you, too, may find it useful.
