Keeps my ice machine working. I have had to descale twice in 9 years but there’s no getting around it. NOTE: wear gloves cause it will irritate your skin. (I guess that’s how it eats the scale off the metal components.)

Most ice makers have an ice making freezer section plated with nickel. For that reason some caustic cleaners designed to remove mineral buildup can damage that metal coating. Care must bu used to ensure that this component of your ice maker is not damaged. This cleaner is both safe and effective for that purpose.Do not expect that the application of this liquid will result in any immediate interaction with the buildup such as foaming or a visible chemical reaction. Using this liquid with some "elbow grease" will result in a drying of and caked removal of the mineral coating.An effective and useful cleaning solution.

This always is the best choice for cleaning your ice maker. I know people who don’t and it shows. Flavor? I guess it makes my ice cubes taste better? Can I give that stars?
