This cable is the correct one for my 2008 Tahoe but the reason I gave it less stars is because it did not come with a new clip to attach the upper cable with the lower cable (this product). The original clip was extremely brittle and broke and needed replacement. The clip is a pain to find and essential for the two cables to connect correctly. Ended up pulling a clip from a junkyard truck in order to get it to work.

Common issue for GM trucks, especially 2007-2014 Tahoe/Suburban (and GMC/Cadillac equivalents) and 2007-2013 Sierra and Silverado is that shifting the gear selector up and down is very unsmooth. Can be difficult to shift, or it feels like there is something obstructing shifts. This was present on my 2008 Chevy Tahoe 4WD, and eventually the system failed all together, and the vehicle could only shift 'up' to drive or 'down' to the low gears, rendering it inoperable (since vehicle can't be started in anything other than Neutral or Park. The common failure is the two two piece shifter cable from the column to the transmissions fails where the upper and lower cable meet, under the driver's seat area on the underside of the truck. Repair is to replace both cables. Use a OEM parts website to determine correct cable numbers.Replaced both cables and the truck shifts like a day one off the lot new vehicle. Seller shipped part fast and it arrived on time, enabling the repair and giving me my vehicle back.
