Picked this up along with a generator inlet box to add generator backup power to my house. This fit perfectly in my GE 200 amp load center (model TM2020RCUBK1), lining right up with the main breaker and the top right breaker space for adding in the generator. The included drill bit is nothing special, but was able to do the job to drill needed holes to mount the plate and was a nice thing to include. The big thing I appreciate, especially since anyone could be in this panel after its installed, is the ample number of warning label stickers included. One is even safe startup instructions, which most folks might take for granted or not understand when loading a generator safely. Overall, for how reasonably this is priced, how well its made, and everything they include, this is an easy recommendation for an interlock kit.

A must-have for anyone using a portable generator. It ensures safe isolation from the main power grid and prevents dangerous backfeeding.

This little device can be used instead of a transfer switch which can be considerably more expensive and much more intrusive. After having experience with an almost identical device previously, seeing this one reminded of another need for one. So, it was ordered. The kit was shipped quickly and arrived in 2 days which was just as estimated. The parts are rather straightforward and suffered no damage. This kit contains a spacer plate, a sliding lockout plate along with the required hardware and instructions. The kit is easy to install however it does require drilling 3 holes in the circuit breaker cover plate. It also requires that the upper, right-hand breaker position(s) be used for the generator breaker.Once installed, the generator breaker can not be moved to the ON position unless the main breaker (directly above it) switches OFF. Generally, those two operations occur simultaneously. The same is true when normal operation is restored.Carefully marking and drilling the holes is paramount for proper operation of this interlock. As such, a drilling template would be useful.Based on my previous purchase, the cost for this kit is very attractive.
