Great value i think its on par with the price point if not a little under. It works for my laptop so i can plug in a headset with mic option (2x 2.5mm male jack). I havent messed with the buttons. Installed to window 10 just fine, no issues. Overall i'm very satisfied with this product.

The product is okay. Sound is not exceptional but worth the price you're paying. Also it is very delicate so you have to be careful with it. I bought one and it broke so I bought another one and have been really careful with it so it has been working properly for about 5 months now. It's a something you can go for if you are new to recording.

So i was buying this to replace a old faulty audio cable that after a accidental trip over my earbuds in a hurry for finals, damaged my old port and left audio coming in through one ear and dead out the other. Right off the bat i wanted to get a replacement, but instead during a crash the audio driver WIPED OUT ALL OTHER EXISTING DRIVERS.A few days after running it, i encountered a computer crash with a game. Because it wasn't going anywhere i waited 30 minutes before resetting the computer, when i came back, although normally this wouldn't have been a problem before, this audio card crashed the computer EVERY time it was put in or pulled OUT thereafter with the audio warning: "ERROR: THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED" and the infamous windows Blue screen of death. When i came back up, all my other drivers were disabled and highly bugged and no longer functioned.I have yet to regain functionality. For what it's worth, while it worked it recovered the sound, but the awkward large size blocked other nearby ports from being used and even the slightest tilt will give a worrying bend to the device and usb connector.Save yourself the risk, invest in a more reputable audio card, it's not worth losing all access or destroying all audio drivers to your computer. Sure it'll work for a few days, but if it ever crashes with this sound card in, it might wipe all your computer drivers and completely destroy all sound systems on your computer. Buyer beware.

Very cheap, yet outstanding external USB sound system. Both headphone output and microphone input are working great, producing excellent sound. It's a wonderful device for new laptops, which have only a headphone output (no microphone plug). Also works perfect in case your internal sound card fails or its contacts become lose, producing bad, choppy sound. Be patient as shipping from China takes some 2 to 3 weeks. But it's worth waiting.

I had a little bit of money left on a gift card and had gooched my headphone lack on my pc so I decided to order this thing. It came on the 27th of December and was everything I asked of it. It's exactly what it says on the tin. Comments on audio quality, it has no audible distortion, but the bass depth lowered slightly because of the reduction in power that comes with it. It's barely noticeable unless you're a total freak about perfection in your audio. I am. I wasn't expecting too much for 2 bucks, but I was fairly pleased with it.My computer runs a linux operating system and I had only one complaint with functioning on a linux box. It disables onboard shortcuts for volume control unless the actual sound settings window is open. This really isn't too much of an issue for me, I have it open all of the time anyway. Now for the explanation of the title. I ordered it the 14th of January and it arrived in December. I was rather miffed I didn't get it for a few months and then was quite surprised by its arrival in December.

Havent gotten it yet but as I've seen for this on the reviews are great :) it was a decision between this one and another one that was about 10 bucks but the reviews on that one was terrible… they were saying that it started to fade and pop after 20 minutes of use soo after reading these i felt that the 7.1 external card would be the best buy for me :) thanks to everyone who has this already i appreciate it and id like to know some more about configuring it against my laptop sound card? Basically what happened was i decided to let my brother use my turtle beach headset (bad idea) and he broke the tip of the 3.5mm jack connecter in to my laptop so i can't plug in speakers with that bit stuck in there soo i figured id get this.MAC USERS: LET ME KNOW WHICH IS THE LOWEST OSX IT WILL BE COMPATIBLE WITH IF AT ALL. Thanks, Hunter

I bought one of these before and actually paid a little more for it, it may have even been a diferrent brand but looks the same to me. On the first one, the volume buttons didn't work but that didn't matter cuz I didn't then and still don't need that feature. I use the computer volume control. I simply bought it because I could not get sound through the audio jack after a complete reinstall of the op. system. You know... one of those lost phantom drivers that's not even missing, something, something, whatever, I give up?Anyway it's all good through a usb port so bought the adaptor and headache solved. Well, I've run into a similar situation by intalling a computer's hardware into a diferrent case. Audio jacks won't work being installed in the new case (Has to have something to do with the old case having front audio jacks as well). Once agian, problem solved by simply ordering this item for a measly couple a bucks this time. Oh, the volume and mute buttons work fine too but again, it still wouldn't matter because in this type of application you don't need them anyway. I wouldn't expect "ruggid" reliability for 2 bucks but if you're going to plug it in and leave it alone, then this is true value right here! I'm ordering another just for an extra.

When the audio slot on my computer stop working, I bought this 7.1 Ch. USB External Sound Card Adapter. It only costs a little bit over $3 and it works great. What I like the most is that it help amplify the audio.UPDATE: 3/29/2013The part that come in contact with the audio jack broke inside the device last week even though I did not unplug and plug in regularly. It doesn't work anymore. It was poorly built. I have to buy a different one (Logitech USB To 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter)at Amazon.
