This is shiny- like glass. Not what I was expecting. I had planned to paint it and reupholster it to match decor but there’s no way it will hold any paint without extensive sanding. Otherwise pretty nice. Holds kids and I no problem, but wouldn’t hold very large person regularly. Storage a bit shallow but works for hymnals and piano books. Pretty much as described!

Unfortunately, upon unpacking the bench, the toxic nauseating smell was so strong I immediately decided to return it.
