I bought this hose largely on the recommendation of a YouTuber who I trust. To be fair, she was talking about the heavy duty version, but had great things to say about the Gilmour brand. Amazon delivered the hose quickly, and I've used it for 2 months.First, the male threaded hardware on this hose would not screw into a ball-valve nozzle I've use with all my other hoses, despite many attempts on my part. So, within three days of receipt, I cut off the threaded male end and bought a suitable replacement at the local big box hardware store. Strike one.Second, having bought this in mid-Spring with temperatures still in the upper 40s to low 70s F, the hose repeatedly had major problems with kinks; as in every time I used it. The kinks occurred anytime a twist in the hose occurred, which was all the time. I've never experienced such readily kinking of a garden hose.Third, those kinks form bends in the stiff plastic that are prone to kinking again at the same spot. This appears to be a consequence of the stiff plastic used by Gilmour. The material remains stiff even when the temperatures reach and exceed 80F. I've started calling the hose the terminator because that stiffness makes dragging the hose around plants and lighting a nightmare: the hose just knocks them over or worst. One minor good point: Nice color (blue). In summary: I cannot recommend this Gilmour garden hose.

This is the worst hose. I thought the kinks the hose came with would settle out . Nope. These kinks are permanent! I have laid the hose in the sun for several days, not tried to wind it up, made sure it was not wound too tight. Waited too long to return it giving it a fair chance to unkink.I did like the length and the color and the ease of attaching and unattaching to faucet.

It should be criminal to manufacture and build products that are just doomed to fail after few use. Purchased a month ago and used very lightly, this hose is only good for trash. Hose is already damaged from so many kinks. It is a kink nightmare to roll and already has punctured. Gimour should be ashamed to put their reputable name on such cheap trash products.

...so I will keep them but I will never buy this brand again. I bought two 50' hoses to have 100' on a hose reel and to have flexibility if I need to extend one of my other hoses for some reason. These Gilmour hoses are kept in a box-like reel so they are not exposed to the sun and weather, so they should last a while. When I put them in the reel for the first time, I laid them out in the yard to try to get some bends out, and then I put a nozzle on the hose and turned on the water, and continued to straighten it out really good as I fed it on the reel, and I left it under pressure on the reel for about a week hoping that would prevent kinks when I use it. The first time I pulled out about 50' to spray some fungicide, it kinked in 3 places. : ( So it is annoying but I mostly use it to add water to the pool and the hose reel is only a few feet away so while the kinks are annoying, it's not worth rolling them back up and returning.

It’s a very stiff hose and it does kink. I thought it would be better than other hoses because it’s a good garden brand, but it advertises not to kink and it does kink.

I've had other hoses that explode (literally) with our water pressure. This one seems to handle it so far (after a few weeks) and the connections don't leak. It's labeled as "medium" duty, but seems to be a bit heavier than other brands I've used. No complaints, it gets the job done.

Maybe the worst hose I've ever owned. Stiff, and kinks, terrible. Lasted less than 2 months.

Nothing fancy and I didn’t need one that did tricks or got bigger or could trim my trees, just needed one to run water through to a electric power washer and this hose was exactly what I needed. It’s not the top quality one and it has a smaller hose diameter but it’s just fine for the purpose I chose for it. So for the twenty one dollars it’s at that quality and should last a couple of years or even more with proper maintenance. Four Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

Had to replace hoses in front and back of house. This hose is flexible and easy to handle and is good value for the $. Durability remains to be seen as this is the first year of use. So far so good.
