Great affordable solution for watertight connections with exterior lighting in low voltage. If you buy a wiring harness or something pre-made and you want to connect her like this they're usually expensive even if they come with them We personally use these connectors for any vehicle lighting needs to recommend this kit though you do need a special crimper for it but well worth the money

I'll admit this is my first try with connectors on my own. I struggled with a couple--like an off brand of Legos but they mostly worked as intended.

I picked this set of Deutsch connectors up for an install on some ditch lights and a lightbar on my truck. I like the idea of being able to easily disconnect the lights and remove if i want to, and easily connect them back when i wanted to, so i figured with them being exposed to weather, a waterproof solution like this would be best. The good:* They work well - the connectors are certainly water resistant at all locations, they come with soft silicon gaskets where the wires enter, and where the plugs connect together.* Once you get the hang of how these work - they go together relatively easily.Room for improvement:* The instructions - while they were a slight help - and gave me an idea - they were not great. the seemed incomplete, and didn't explain a lot of the items that came, or how to do things. This was my first rodeo with these clips, and I destroyed 2 of them trying to figure out how to make them. Once i got a flow of things going - it was easier.* They're not solder friendly - i'm a solder kinda guy - i don't trust a crimp - to many fail. These pins you put the wires in are not very solder friendly. I gave up the soldering idea and just crimped them flat - which to my surprise actually worked very well - and made my question my love for solder.* the little green clip - that thing is a NIGHTMARE to install. The big one goes in just fine, but that little one..... may just make me lose my mind! I'm guessing i'm doing something wrong as a few went together without a hick-up, but most were a struggle, and one or two of them i just completely gave up on.Overall - i say 4.5/5 stars - I wish they came with better instructions, but once i got the hang of things i really liked them - i would certainly buy more of these when i run out now that i know how these work.

Different size pins make this a great versatile kit for replacement plugs. So many times I’m working on a car and I don’t have time to go to store and buy plug so now I can just make my own. Multiple sizes from 14-20 gauge wire. And water resistant.

I've used thousands of 2 pin molex connectors (0.062") and I believe these are going to replace them for me. Why?- Better wire connections. This crimp is set up as a fully round 360 degree barrel that closes down on all sides of the wire. That is simply better than an open pin that crimps legs down to hold the wire, at least on the stranded I use. It is far too easy for novices (or even experts!) to get a bad crimp and cut through a strand or just have things fold unfortunately and not get a good connection. That doesn't happen here as the wire is grabbed on all sides.- Easier to put pins in the housings. While there are more steps in assembling these there are fewer opportunities to screw things up. Other pin designs can fail thanks to overcrimped or undercrimped pins. They can fail from twisted pins. They can fail from insulation caught and twisted by the pins. I haven't had any of those issues here and it seems to me to be well set up to avoid them.- Latching: The Molex design I used was friction fit. Molex makes good products so that friction fit was tight and held. That also meant anyone unplugging things put a lot of stress on the wires when they inevitably and unwisely grabbed them for leverage. This system has latching and comes free with fewer issues when it is supposed to. That is a plus, but Molex does make latching systems I could have converted to. This feature works for me but I could have found it elsewhere.- Waterproof: These are waterproof from all sides, a nice upgrade. The downside:They are a bit more expensive per unit than the old plugs from the 90s. Not a lot really when bought in quantity but some. I am a bit concerned about how widely available these will be long term but worst case I can go to other manufacturers that use the same design as they are out there.edit: Picked up the DTK6s after the 2s. They're bigger but just as much an upgrade. They work the same way and have full surround barrels.
