It is a good idea, however due to the third wire for communication, the Stock Traxxas receiver will not work with it. You can plug it in to Channel one on the receiver however it will be in the way if you have the Pro scale light kit.

Bought two sets of these, the first set worked good for a bit. Now they are starting to flicker different color, the second set of lights I got flickered right out of the box. If I keep it on the white color it dont flicker as much.

The leds are bright and being able to control from my transmitter is nice BUT it WILL NOT work with clipless body mounts on a trx4 high trail.
