I purchased two of these lights (a white and a blue) to use as tank marker lights for scuba diving for my buddy and me. Note: lights are negatively buoyant and don't float above your tank. Otherwise, they worked well.EXCEPT my light fell apart after about 5 dives. The electronic portion fell out of the clear tube casing and is now polluting the sea somewhere. Over a week ago I tried to contact Glo-Toob customer support, and have yet to hear from them. This is unacceptable in many respects. Very disappointed, I definitely WOULD NOT BUY again.

My biggest complaint is that there is only one oring sealing this light. It would be easy to redesign it for a double or triple oring seal. SOS mode would also have been nice to have, but it’s a good product.

Small, super bright, & adjustable. Start selling them with rechargeable batteries and I would give 10 stars! I love using this light instead of chem lights for night dives. Everyone on the boat is always jealous of mine signal light.

This was advertised as a AAA battery but it turned out to be a A23 battery. I had an old model and it was great it is starting to die after 2 years of nightly used. Since it was not as advertised AAA battery I returned it.

I have 4 of these - the ones that stay waterproof are great and we've used them on a lot of dives. The one that I put on the dog, however, failed miserably. She was only in a rain storm. Water got in and battery got weird - it no longer works.

Update:I've used the same Glo-toob on my dog for the past 7 years. We've taken it on many walks, dog park visits, and even on camping trips. The light is still working perfectly.Original Review:I bought this to replace the Nite Ize SpotLit clip-on light I used to have on my dog's collar. The Nite Ize light worked fine for night time walks but could not stand up to my husky mix's rough play at the dog park. After just one or two trips to the dog park, the Nite Ize was broken. So I spent the extra money for a Glo-Toob light and I am pleased I did. Several trips to the dog park and plenty of rough play later and the Glo-Toob is still good as new. Even on the 25% power setting, is also much brighter than my previous light was and lets me easily spot my dog no matter what dark corner of the dog park she's at. It even lights up our path a little when we go on night time walks. And since it's waterproof, I don't have to worry about water or dirt getting inside and causing damage (my dog likes to splash water and roll around in dirt). I'm sure the light will hold up great during camping trips too.I was a little concerned that my dog (about 45 lbs) would be hurt or at least bothered by the solid tube when it swings around as she runs, plays, and shakes herself off. But she doesn't seem to notice it in the least. It's also very convenient that I can use my rechargeable AAA batteries so I don't have to worry about the light running out of juice and not having a fresh battery on hand. (Much fewer batteries to throw away too, which is a plus!)

I have no issues with casual "soft" use for this gadget. But these are very expensive for what they are.For me it's not as robust as some of the reviewers make out.I had a first generation Glo Toob several years ago and it failed after using it for Scuba Diving after taking it 35 meters down in the sea.I made sure it was fully sealed before submerging into the water but the chamber ended up with moisture inside which made the device eventually fail. 60 meters the OEM says this is fit for - don't make me laugh (also check their warranty that liquid ingress voids the warranty). So why have I purchased the latest?Well I need something in addition to a torch that's compact and light when walking our dogs at night where there's no street lamps. No doubt for casual use like getting splashed with rain I'm sure this new Glo Toob will be fine. The change in design where these now take a AAA battery is a welcome one as these batteries are easy to buy and cheap. However (and I am a real OCD individual when it comes to detail) but I notice the bottom removable cap when screwed in tight is't a perfect circular fit. Running my finger around the edge of the cap where it meets the main cylinder body on one side the cap protrudes just slightly. It's because of this and only one rubber seal on the Glo Toob why I would not trust this for functioning in anything other than a shower and not submerged in water. Water does not need any help to penetrate into what should be sealed electronics and the slightest of imperfections will see moisture or water enter them. Also turning the cap backwards and forwards to cycle the light functions can be a bit hit and miss and doesn't always work as it should.Again - whoever thought opening up a seal and closing it again on what should be a dry sealed chamber is not thinking clearly regarding design (similar On / Off functionality on the first gen Glo Toob I had). It's bright enough for you to be seen by others in the dark from a sensible distance, and can be used as a temporary reading lantern if this is your only light source. The device feels well made but I'm not sure how shock proof it really is, as a rule of thumb electronics don't get on with being dropped - certainly not many times, so the robust feel of the device might make you become a little careless for the care of something that isn't as perfect as it should be.Just to give you an idea of how confident the manufacture is on this device being water proof - Glo Toob's USA website states If the device becomes flooded of water it voids the warranty. What???!!!

I am an enthusiast for flashlights. My criteria is 1) the light should run on AA or AAA batteries, 2) be shock and waterproof, 3) have the longest run time to output ratio, and 4) be reliable. This is a review of the Glo-Toob AAA marker light.First, this light runs on AAA batteries. Second, it is shock and waterproof. Third, it is bright and efficient. The battery that came with the light lasted at least 5 hours. Very good for 3 bright LEDs off of 1 AAA battery. I have only owned this for several months and have yet to see how reliable it is.I love this light. It is compact and appears a lot more durable than the Kriana Krill light (I wanted to love the Krill light, but it fails in durability and reliability). It is supposedly nearly crush proof, which appears realistic. I rate the Glo-Toob AAA a 5 out of 5 stars. If it came in AA form, I would buy a couple in a heartbeat.UPDATE: 10/16/15Added some pictures of the Glo-Toob AAA in Red and Blue, including a generic brand in Green that is not quite as good in quality. You can judge the difference in color between all three, and also see the quality difference between Glo-Toob and the generic brand. The Glo-Toob is manufactured to a much higher level of quality, with smooth and opaque plastic, which reduces direct glare from the bright LEDs. The colors are also compared to the Red, Green, and Blue of the Nitecore SRT7 flashlight.
