Despite its problems this is an excellent budget set for a studio. These are real shrubs that are much more powerful than their own camera flash. They are adequate for a professional studio setting. Unlike many they have onboard power supplies rather than a central power unit that runs wires to all of the strobes. You can easily see everything you get so I’m just gonna run over the things I’m slightly disappointed about but it’s hardly a dealbreaker. Everything comes in a gigantic bag that is ridiculously heavy. The soft boxes aren’t as big as they could be.The light stands are not very tall. You won’t get overhead lighting and they are sturdy but not as sturdy as you would like using strobes this large. This uses a xenon modeling lamp this is the old style light rather than the newer LED Cob modeling lamps. The strobe is the same. The main difference is that there is something to burn out and possibly break since it sticks out from the light so far.The lights have their own internal triggers then it comes with an external trigger. I already have the more advanced version of the Godox trigger but if you have a different brand of light you can use the receiver to trigger that off. They should’ve come with three or four receivers to go with the transmitter. The reflectors are also a bit small but you can use small reflectors but it would be nice if they maybe had a larger one.All in all there for the money this is still an extremely value oriented set that gives you dependable reliable strobe lighting for an unprecedentedly low price. With a few tweaks that would’ve cost the company very little though they could’ve given you a six star version of this thing.

This is a complete set you get you started in a studio environment but I won't say it's completely top of the line. For more of a hobbyist like me it's perfectly fine though. The 1st thing you'll of course find is these do make a ton of light Plenty for anything indoors and you can even see I included a photo I took outside in the pitch black of night of our garden 50 ft away(f4.5 1/200th iso 320 ) and it is completely lit up. Plugging in the generous power cords and flipping a switch gets you going quickly but if you want to use the soft-boxes expect to be delayed a bit. There are no instructions and I found myself wondering if they really wanted me to just force the rods in the fabric and to a bent shape; sure enough that is the goal. A bit sketchy. Controls are easy and after a quick glance at the instructions you'll get the handle of them but for the most part I'm just changing power from the included dongle. The inclusion of said dongle for getting control of the flashes from your camera is a good addition but it left me wanting more. It is able to set the power but not in the same range that you can on-camera. It also only gets you control of one of the flashes. It seems like I can turn on the lamp of both for instance but the power setting only applies to one. Not sure if this is a bug or known but it seems a bit odd. The included stands aren't the beefiest things ever and I often find when the soft-boxes are on they want to tip unless I have the legs just so. Think about other stands or some weights to hang off them. I'd like these to have a battery option for a bit more portability. I did try some portable power sources but this thing draws so much they'd shut down after one flash so you're looking at one of the "solar generators" for anything away from power. Lastly the case is handy and decently made. Everything fits in it and seems like with some care it should last a long time.

This is a great package for a photographer trying to start out in becoming a strobist or learning how to use flash and wanted to do portraits. It comes with nice 300w strobes on each light and it has a modeling light to shoot in a studio that may need some extra light on the subject for focus. The light stands are from a different brand than godox and are matte finish and is actually super compact and decent. I like the compact design on them and they fit nicely in the included packaging. The bag is super nice and it comes with a octangular 5-1 reflector as well as a 2.4ghz trigger if you do have an x1t, x2t, or pro trigger which works with this setup as well. The set up doesn't come with instructions but it's quite simple to put together the softbox. I like having a plugin set as I don't have to worry about running out of power with the plugin strobes. Overall this is a great price for the set of strobes. The bulbs is a e26 screw in monolight that can be changed out to a different bulb for use with the included color covers to change the strobe colors I think. Not sure what those included rgbw covers are for but it works on top of the bulbs from the pictures and the bulbs are not included in this set. The long tube bulbs dont work with the covers. Great to take to places or use in your studio.

This set came with the older, now superseded MS-300, without a built in LED modeling light. That light has been individually reviewed many times, so I will focus on the system that came with it.The light stands are 2 meters, which is just adequately tall enough, but not particularly sturdy. The legs are short, so with a light head and soft box on it, it is easy enough to tip over if not careful. The strobes work with my existing Godox trigger, so I really don't need the trigger that came with it. That trigger, however, is useful for other brands of cameras, so the system can be used by friends who have different brands. I was a little concerned that it comes with only one XTR16 receiver, but since the strobes can be triggered by another flash going off, that allows them to all be used in my studio even with just one receiver. The soft boxes are smallish, and not very deep, which makes them less useful for portraiture than I would like. However, if they were much larger I'd hesitate to try to use them on the provided light stands.
