After a LOT of research, I settled on this Grand Trunk stand. It's great. Light weight, easy to use with my ENO double hammock. I use it in my backyard and it's perfect. Really happy with my purchase!

It's heavy but ig you want to enjoy a hammock this is a good way to do so without destroying your walls in your house.

I wasn't pleased that some of the metal tubes were scuffed likely at the factory so I'm not docking Amazon a star for this. But it's frustrating to pay for something brand new and have it handled carelessly before you got to mess it up yourself. The description says it takes 11' hammocks. This is false. I tried two different hammocks one at 11' and another at 10'6" and the 11' one touched the ground while inside it. The other one was much closer to the ground than I or most people would want to be. I am only 5'10" and had a very hard time getting in/out.I also have the ENO solo pod. This stand feels much flimsier and it mounts at basically the same height and length. Every time I move in the hammock the end pieces move a lot and makes me doubt that a 400lb person would be safe in this as claimed. Just like that stand this one doesn't take the larger hammocks well. I should have saved my money and not purchased it thinking it would work for larger hammocks like it claims.I will say I do like how you have more play in where you can clip the caribiner and that it actually came with a decent storage case. Overall it's a decent product for the price point and it came in two days, but it won't take an 11' hammock like the product description says. So do not make the mistake I did and buy it for that. Also, it really isn't all that "portable" even with the case.

The first package looked used, as did the entire product. Mold/dirt on the outside of the bag. This looked used like it's been shipped to multiple houses, assembled, disassembled and sent back. Many times. There are scratches all over the poles. One of the end pieces was dented so badly that I was unable to assemble the whole thing. I wouldn't have minded so much, had I been able to set it up and use it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Will be sending back, unless someone can help remediate this. After the first debacle, I reached out, directly to Grand Trunk and told them about my experience. Lori was very helpful and sent me out a new package immediately. She promised that they would inspect it at the warehouse before they sent it out and when it arrived, it was in good condition. I was able to set it up and hang my hammock on it.Very nice product. I'm a little worried about the longevity, as there is no support bolsters on the upper V-shaped portions of the stand. It feels like over time, they will most likely bend, due to stress. I'm going to take it camping, to see if it stands up to a weekend's worth of use in the outdoors. It'll also give me a chance to try out the ridge line loops by attaching a rainfly. Fingers crossed!

No one reading this is likely to doubt that hammocks offer noteworthy advantages over other portable shelters or that in most of the few remaining places where they haven't yet cut down the trees and named the streets after them, one is not permitted to hang a hammock on those "zoo" trees. Designated camping areas are concrete pads or cleared and mowed areas. Finding two, accessable, mature, hardwood trees at a suitable distance is not impossible, but extremely rare for many of us. Backyard spreader bar net style hammock stands are as pathetic as the hammocks they're designed for and gathered end hammock stands I've seen are courageous attempts that fall short of meeting the need, except one. The Grand Trunk Hangout Hammock Stand stands out. It's more affordable, more stable, and more compact than any other of which I am aware and isn't "elegant simplicity" what we like about hammocks in the first place? Now I just need to figure out how to restrain the sideways spread of the frame with cordage so I can get tall furniture risers under it for a more altitude.

My son loves it. It's huge, but easy to disassemble and re-assemble. Very sturdy.
