I always use these on my guitars. This specific model fitted my Cort Gold O6 with minimal sanding.

Used it on a Gibson L-00 copy I built. Just what I needed.

I've always been pleased with Graphtech. It seems to give more consistent results and it's easy to work with. It doesn't have the issues of creating dents and grooves easily like plastic and it gives a higher ring than bone (not always good though, depends on the harmonics of the instrument, IMO)

This slotted nut replaced a home-made bone nut that I had made using no specialized tools. The difference was night and day. The tone is bright and ringing, and the string spacing is perfect.

This worked well as a replacement for a 1 3/4 inch bone nut - a size I found hard to find. All I needed to do was sand a little from the bottom and drop it in with a small amount of wood glue. Tusq sounds very good in bridges, saddles, and pins if you haven't tried it yet. Consistently bright and clear, but still with strong bass - think Taylor. Also less likely to cause a strong to stick or catch when tuning as it's smoother than bone.

I bought this for a copy of a Gibson L-00 acoustic that I built. The neck width at the nut is a perfect fit at 1-3/4". I didn't have to file it down at all. It has a great sound. Great material. I highly recommend this for builders or to replace your existing nut.

I do tech work and have replaced a lot of nuts. The material these are made of is very high quality and helps greatly to stop your strings from binding when installed properly. I replaced a nut from a PRS SE recently(the only bad point of the SE's) that is made of some horrible sticky material, hard to cut, leaves sticky residue in the nut slots that has to be scraped out, and binds the strings, very bad with a tremolo equipped unit. I did the drop test of the old nut and the Tusq nut just for fun, the Tusq has a nice ring to it when dropped on a table, the PRS nut was dead. The Tusq nut cuts easily when adjusted with the nut files and fixes most tuning problems, it fixed the problem I was having with the PRS, I can now use the tremolo and return to pitch, before the old nut would cause "slack storage" behind the nut and made the note return sharp. My advice is before running out and buying new tuners replace the nut with one of these first, you may find that is all that is needed.
