Had a Ghroe that dripped, Wife hated it. Took it apart, unscrewed the main valve and like most faucets, I thought that was it. $200 later I found I was wrong. Still dripped. Research showed that it with the hot and cold valve on either side of the main valve. No idea how they work but not like normal hot and cold valves. I tried the cheap way of ordering replacement O rings and that might have worked if I had known then that the center pushes in and out. Mine was stuck but I did not know to try to work it free. Finally bought two new ones at another $200 and that fixed the stupid drip. Had Steak for dinner :-)

I bought this more than 6 months ago and waited too long to install it. I finally opened up the package and find that it's missing multiple O-rings - of course, they are the ones I need. It's been six months so I'm screwed on the return. Will not buy this again. Untrustworthy. Don't know if this was a returned product - it should have been new.

Despite what Grohe customer service says, this kit includes all 10 orings and grease required to service the 0835500M Stop Valves. It will do both. It even includes a new spring and filter mesh. Can't speak to the orings that are used for the thermostatic valve but these stopped the leak.If your shower has the 0835500M Stop Valve, that is most likely the cause of the leak. The orings wear out, especially if you don't lubricate (who knows to do that anyways?). Once the oring wears out, it will leak slightly and progressively get worse. Also if you haven't check your stops you should for debris in the filter screen. This can reduce water pressure and cause it to be too hot or cold if that stop is plugged.Don't buy new stop valves, just rebuild them. Anyone that can change a clock battery can do it!

As another reviewer stated, just buy the replacement part instead of these. I was happy with the product. It's a variety mutli-pack and had all the items I needed. I replaced the O-rings and the shower stopped leaking for a few days while everything was new. Started leaking again after a week. Not the o-rings fault...the shower parts were worn. Unfortunately, if it is already leaking, you need a new part. I could see replacing the O-rings as maintenance every few years, but if it isn't broken...

This is what I needed to stop the leaking of my Grohe shower mixing valve. Not sure this project is for the beginning DIYer because I believe this kit services a lot of Grohe valves and requires careful examination of parts to know which ones are necessary for your valve. Mine happens to have a lot of parts and usually takes me about a half a day to complete by the time I do a complete disassemble clean all the parts by decalcify and degreasing, replace O rings, lubricate and reassemble. But I'm sure I do way more than a plumber would do as only a partial disassemble and 6 "O" rings are required to stop leaking. But doing a complete and thorough servicing I know I'm maximizing the life of the valve and service intervals.

We are on a well and have mildly hard water which slowly clogged the protective screens in our Grohe shower mechanism. In the process of cleaning them out, some of the o-ring washers were damaged and replaced with after-market washers that were almost, but not quite, the right size. They worked for a while, but were just barely too large, making it somewhat difficult to turn the handle to turn the shower on and off. Eventually, I had to clean the screens, again, and the shower head dribbled after putting it back together. I knew what the problem was, but I ordered the set of Grohe washers, this time, and they fit correctly. Now we have no leak and I surprised myself, the first time I turned the shower on, after putting it back together because I was used to putting some muscle into turning the handle but now it turns so easily and smoothly. Lesson learned: Use the right parts. I ordered an extra set of washers because we have 4 of these same shower systems in our house and I want to have one handy, just in case.
