I almost gave this 4 stars... the clear acrylic piece didn't quite fit into the base... at first. I kept working at it and it finally went into place.Is this a necessary item? Of course not. But is a pretty cool item for a desk our music room. Is it effective as a pick holder? Well... it can hold picks. I actually thought it wouldn't, but I was surprised to see picks balance in the slots just fine. That said, this isn't really the most efficient method for holding picks... not efficient at all! But it is pretty cool looking, and I did get it mainly for decoration and nothing else.The Pros:Holds picksLights up and functions as advertisedHandy little remote control (is a con too)Looks good.The Cons:Struggled to get the clear acrylic piece into the base.Not an efficient pick holderANOTHER remote control to keep track ofThe cord is white... not awesome with a black base.
