I only use Gutermann thread in my sewing machine, but I purchased this to do some hand sewing/quilting, namely whip stitching for English Paper Piecing. It's awesome thread. Very sturdy, easy to thread, rarely gets tangled or knotted. I've bought much more of it since I bought this color and would not try another brand.
