Hareline has done a good job of improving the quality of their materials over the years, but their elk appears to have issues. 1) My main issue is broken tips. They are not all broken, but enough that you will have to tweeze a few every stack. 2) The underfur is way too much. There's always going to be some, but this piece would need to be combed out with big women's hair brush. 3) The hide patch. This is less of a deal breaker but there's a through and through hole which lessens usable product and a lot coming off the edges. It looks like Hairline has a long way to go to catch up to Nature's Spirit.

Haven’t used yet but looks good. Patch of hair is relatively small but should be enough for tying tons of elk hair caddis over the cold months!
