The velcro makes them easy to connect together, if you don't know exactly how many you may need. I used them for compression post mastectomy (flat) as the bra I was sent home with was too uncomfortable. It worked well, you have to be very careful to cover the velcro with the fabric completely or it pokes but you can if you are careful. It's very soft except for the velcro area.

These bandages are the most comfortable compression bandages I have seen. Once you get used to not having a fastener on both ends you learn to enjoy the luxury of not having Velcro digging into your ankles.
