Took a working hdmi output based dvd player, and with the adaptor tried every set of inputs between my old TV and vcr. Nothing. Maybe I got a bad adaptor. But didn't work as it should have. There are dvd players on here with direct RCA outputs/inputs. Just go with those but also be aware of getting what you paid for.
