The carabiners are about the size of my thumb. They have a bright finish, and the spring in the gate feels pretty strong.These are too small for rigging up something like a sail shade. These are more for lightweight tasks like hanging a potted plant or running a short laundry line. The listing says their working load is two hundred pounds. I haven't tried to hang that much weight with these, nor will I try. Two hundred pounds might be more like their failure point.All that said, the current list price for these makes them less than fifty cents a piece. They are absolutely worth a half a buck. Just make sure their size/strength fits your needs.
