I mounted this in my shop area, and we have a guest room above it. You cannot hear or feel anything from the room when I am hitting or kicking the bag. It was really easy to install, as you just find the joists and drill your anchors into them. After mounting the angle iron, attach the springs and hooks and you're good to go. It is very solid and stable. The size is perfect because everything is made to fit right between the joists. I couldn't ask for a better mount.

We underestimated the setup when choosing this ceiling mount for our workout room, which has a 9-foot ceiling. With this mount, we needed a longer chain to attach the bag, and unfortunately, that caused the bag to swing wildly during use unless braced by someone. In hindsight, a mount that extends from a side wall would have been a better option for positioning the bag lower. That said, the product itself seems fine. It’s reasonably sturdy, though I would have appreciated thicker springs for a more robust feel. If your ceiling height and setup are suitable, this mount is likely a solid choice for hanging a punching bag. Just make sure to factor in your space before deciding!

Our young adult daughter is a red belt in MMA. She has been wanting a punching bag for some time so that she could practice at home. The hanger for this is built like a tank. It fit perfectly onto the floor joist in our basement ceiling that are 16 inches on center. It's nice to have something that uses this industry standard measurement. This made instalation a breeze. With a bag weighing in at 110 pounds this bracket system is really doing well. Between its own weight, being punched, and getting kicked this bag has been taking a beating.Overall this Heavy Punching Bag Hanger is an important addition to anyone's workout routine. Especially for those in the world of MMA.

... does the job that it's intended to do, at least in the short run, so we'll have to see how well it hold up in the long run. For those who have never hung a heavy bag before, it is a fact that with much use, the hanging points of contacts (where the chain contacts the carbineer, for example) will experience a lot of wear if not regularly lubricated, and will generally eventually wear even if lubricated. Even so, it appears that most parts of this can be easily replaced with local (hardware store) parts should the need arise. Looking forward to seeing how well this holds up and will update this review if necessary.

Overall it doesn't really good job of isolating the punching bag from the ceiling. It doesn't eliminate everything, but it does do it pretty good job. It's meant to mount floor joists that are 16 in on center, or 12 in on center. You technically could drill another hole or two if you needed to, the mounting plates are 1/8th inch steel. It does come with the mounting lag bolts which are plenty long enough, three and a half or 4 in, I honestly did not measure them, but plenty long for most applications. It does include some drywall anchors, but I definitely don't recommend it mounting it to drywall alone, that's just not going to hold very long. This will also support a heavy bag up to 140 lb.
