I bought an Aprilaire Model 700M whole home humidifier. As it is supplied, it will run and use water whenever the called for humidity has not reached the humidistat setting, whether or not the furnace blower is circulating air through the house. Without the furnace fan blower running, I see this as a waste. I hooked this device up to interrupt power to the humdifier humidistat (which also controls the water supply and humidifier internal fan) so that the furnace blower must be running for the humidifier to allow water to flow. Very easy to set up.
