First off, I used it on a ceramic-coated down- and mid-pipe (Swain-Tech's 'white lightning' coating, aka proper ceramic coating, not 'ceramic paint'). This coating is like sand-paper (not shiny or smooth), so any paint would adhere very well to it.Secondly, the ceramic is quite thick (comapred to paint) and a very good thermal barrier, so the heat rating of the Helix paint won't have a chance to be challenged. I mainly used it because the ceramic coating is bright white and I didn't want to see that under the hood.I managed to cover the DP and MP right to the very last drop with one coat only, so if you want to be on the safe side or need 2 coatings, make sure you buy more than one can.It's help up well so far (2 weeks), but then again I would expect it to considering all the conditions.

I used this to paint the heat shields on my otherwise matte black motorcycle exhaust pipes. Make sure to read the directions and follow them! Turned out awesome and has not faded, chipped, peeled, cracked or anything. Love it.

Two coats to a piston crown and bake. Makes a ceramic like barrier. Shops want up to $250 to do this same thing.
