Great looking lid and works well.BUT!The bamboo lid is laminated and not solid. As a result it is not heat resistant and will shrink, warp, discolor and fall apart over time. It lasted for around six months and for $10, it was still worth it. It is bio degradable and just get a new one for the price of a store bought cuppa.I am going to try the beech version to see whether that is any different.

I purchased the lid to use in my new 6-cup Chemex. I appreciated an email from the seller about the lid not being suitable for constant use if the carafe is being kept warm on a heating element. I hadn't thought about the possibility that the wood could be damaged.

Das Teil ist viel kleiner als man denkt. Es erfüllt seinen Zweck. Ich glaube, für Vielnutzer ist das nichts, es (Bambus) wird sich auflösen, je mehr es der Feuchte ausgesetzt ist. Entsprechende Bilder gibt es hier in den Rezensionen.Also: wenn der Kaffee getrunken ist, Deckel abnehmen und trocknen lassen.

This looks great, matches my Chemex, and will help keep coffee warm for a little while. If you really need to keep your brew warm for a longer period use the spent filter & grounds as a plug, looks funky but works. When you wet the filter before you add your grounds, remember to run your finger up the pouring groove to seal it against the glass; this prevents the impatient quick pours from running off the top of the grounds, down the groove, and diluting your cuppa.

This lid matches the wooden neck-piece of the Chemex Coffee Maker. At first I didn't get it but since I made several cups at a time, it was open to the air and the heat radiated out of the top. So, I order this cover.The coffee stays warmer in the Chemex -- but then the coffee is fine reheated but I also don't want anything to get into the Chemex in my small and busy kitchen.It looks great, fits well, and works -- who could ask for more.

Looks nice on my Chemex and fits perfectly.I think it helps a bit keeping the coffee warmer, but I enjoy using it more because it looks cool.Not a must-have, but it's definitely a great accessory.
