I got these for hunting. I need boot socks that didn't constantly fall down. I got so aggravated at hunting socks that I did some Googling and these type of socks came up. They worked out great. I'm 6'1" and you see how high they came up. They fell just a tiny bit hiking, but not enough to make an issue. The added benefit was warmth. I might grab another pair or 2.

I used these for a men’s 18th century costume. But they were really tight. I didn’t have to worry about pulling them up all night!! They were a bit toooo long, so I folded them over at the top,,, just over my knee. I am only 5’2” tall, so judge them by that. They are thick and good quality. Hope this helps.
