Bike brakes are often constructed using low-quality materials, which can lead to durability issues. The rubber part installed using outdated methods, tend to detach quickly from the metal part. Posted some pictures with the measurements. Looks like cheaply made but you get what you pay for I guess. The grooves aren't very deep and there's no wear line indicator showing when to replace them. These will probably work fine for me. If you live on top of a big hill like I do then you probably need brakes. Who wants to spend a lot in this economy? The grooves from what I have heard are important to catch dirt and water for better stopping performance and less rim wear. This may be an important factor. I will edit the review if there are any serious issues after I use them.Edit: They squeal pretty bad. Can be high pitched or rough sort of vibrational when you stop. They barley worked at all one rainy day. One of them suffered a catastrophic failure when the entire rubber part fell out of the metal part. Even still they do work better at stopping than the old dry rotten ones I previously had on there

Looking to buy new bikes when we were stuck at home. Air in the tires and ordered these brakes and old bikes are just fine. Saved $$$$$

I selected these brake pads mostly due to price per large volume. That was a mistake. The pads I received do not match the description or more importantly the photos.I've tried them on several times, chromed steel mostly, and they squeal so horribly I chose to remove them and use other pads.They are not engineered like those shown with three distinct sections, with a deep groove. Instead these are thin with 1 cm of wearable material and shallow to no grooves. The material is too soft, hence the noise. They don't come with a washer or enough thread to add a washer, though it seemed long enough to secure to the brakes. Yput can see that the thread length is shorter than the nut width, if I can figure how to upload a photo on this buggy website.Some pads came at angles, but that should be workable. My main complaint is the material composition introducing excessive noise. They will work in a pinch and maybe if you ride many miles they will calm down. But quality pads should perform out of the box. Actually I would not recommend anyone use those unless you are in a third world country and would like everyone to know you are breaking, like a horn.

They make quite a bit of noise at a stop and they wear down pretty quickly. But other than that they stop my bike in a spit second.
