This is the first one I ordered the measurements are not right and it does not work on the rototiller even though we went by the model numbers and matched it up with what was on the list that it says this fits but it does not work

Replaced my 1980 11hp Briggs coil with this electronic coil and it fired right up with the first turn of the key when it wouldn’t run at all before. Some need to be flipped upside down so the magnet is the correct way to the direction the flywheel is spinning but it’s as easy as just flipping it over. Recommend for anyone wanting to get away from points and always have their engine fire without issues

Bought this for a 70's 5HP B+S horizontal shaft engine. It's on a tiller that l inherited from my dad and only use a few times a year. It has been getting harder to start every year, in spite of new points, condenser, and carb kit. I was even considering a new engine, but it ran great if l could ever get it started. The engine lD was missing but the part number this coil replaced was period correct and the bolt pattern matched. There were no instructions in the box. I pulled the flywheel, removed the old points and condenser, slapped the new coil on, and checked for spark- nada. Maybe "points eliminater" means you still need the condenser? Go to YouTube. A guy with a similar but even crustier engine says you don't need any of the old ignition parts, but grounding the new coil is critical. I sanded the engine's mounting posts, the contact area on the new coil, and applied some electrical contact paste around the bolts. Spun the flywheel again by hand and had spark. Reassembled and it fired up on the second pull! Starts easy now. Maybe l'm living in the past, (like others with a 1970's Briggs and Stratton tiller, LOL), but if sticking a piece of paper with basic instructions in the box would impact the profit margin too much, maybe at least the vendor could recommend which YouTube video to watch.
