Like you can see, the style has changed, but still works. BE VERY CAREFULL HOOKING UP 24 VOLT WIRES. If not hooked up properly you will blown your transformer. $275 dollars later. No wiring instructions in box. Does replace r8242a1255. Very miss leading with the new design. All I was doing was preventive maint. on my unit. Just installed , I will see how it works.

Amazon needs, once again for this part, to update their description and photo gallery. The part is identical in every way to the listing photos, but the part I received has the brand name “Resideo” on it and on the box it came in. It is my understanding that Resideo is the spin-off commercial division of the Honeywell Corporation, but both names are for the exact same products. Not a big deal unless that is important to you, but Amazon still needs to correct this on their listing. The contactor is an easy install if you have even minimal DIY knowledge and skills. It is basically a plug and play installation. But take pictures and notes of which wires are connected to the lugs and terminals on your old contactor to make the swap out easier and most importantly error free, especially since you are dealing with both 24 VAC connectors on the sides and 120 VAC lugs and connectors on the ends of the contactor—obviously not interchangeable. AND ABOVE ALL make absolutely certain with a voltmeter at all points along the old contactor that you have disconnected all power sources at their appropriate disconnects and circuit breakers BEFORE you touch anything. You can never be certain that some previous electrical work might have left a power source to the condenser you are not aware of. Also, if the female spade terminals which connect the 24 VAC wires to the contactor are NOT protected by plastic covers, you must be certain the 24 volt source is turned off at the furnace / air handler to prevent accidentally shorting out the transformer on the air handler control board. Hope this helps and is not too much detail.

I received the newer model as others have stated. It is not going to be the old version as shown in the main photo, but rather the newer version pictured lower on the page in the section labeled “From the manufacturer.” The new version is actually what I hoped to receive as they are electrically the same and mostly labeled the same as the old version. This Honeywell contactor exceeds the ratings of my old contactor and works just fine

Have a Ruud condenser and swapped it out, I am not an AC tech but was able to do it with youtube and common sense. Overall good product.

A name brand for a good price. A perfect fit on my Rheem A/C condenser unit.

Just what I needed to fix my central AC. Saved me hundreds of dollars!I only say it is for the advanced DIYer because you are dealing with 220VAC. If you have enough sense to follow simple precautions (kill the breaker AND pull the shutoff, and to switch over one wire at a time, paying attention to the schematic and what is already installed, you should be fine. Sadly, most people who have tools shouldn't be allowed to use them.
