I used my vacuum several times with the cloth reusable bag supplied but didn't like having to clean it out constantly. When I saw there was an adapter sold so that I could use paper disposable bags I ordered it immediately. It arrived today (along with 5 size N bags). The price was about the same as ordering just the bags alone so I took a chance. Perfect fit, converts it to use a disposable bag with no loss of suction and less mess to clean up. I definitely recommend if you purchase a Hoover CH30000 PortaPower Lightweight Commercial Canister Vacuum to add to your order with this accessory, less mess, less clean up and it fits this vacuum perfectly.

I was looking forward to disposable bags so I purchased this for my new Hoover PortaPower vacuum. I have the newest version, CH30000 purchased just this past year. The adapter piece fits, but does not seal around the enclosure !!! So after using it for a while I noticed the suction going away and opened it up to find all the dirt being sucked directly into the vacuum around the white adapter piece. I ended up finding a solution which was to take some adhesive weatherstripping and cut it down to fit the outer edge of the cover. It works great and now I have suction and a good seal. If you're willing to take this extra step then it works. If not you won't be happy with it. See my picture.

I am getting so tired of dealing with and being hindered by faulty products!I just bought this adapter kit for the paper bags, because the cloth bag is very messy and is impossible to fully empty. After receiving the adapter (which, incidentally, came with no instructions) I figured out how to attach the bag to the adapter and inserted the whole assembled article into my new portapower cleaner. Thus fully inserted, the adapter jiggled around inside the rim of the machine. There is no seal, no gasket, no anything keeping the adapter snug against the vacuum cleaner "mouth". There is a two-millimeter crack around the edge of the adapter that will let the dirt be sucked in, not into the bag, but into the machine itself!So now I get to figure out how to gerry-rig this half-assed piece of s***, that I have wasted money and precious time to order, so that it will actually do the job it is supposed to do. Why there is no seal around the edge of this adapter, I just don't understand.The Hoover Company has wasted a lot of my time, money and energy by selling me this defective piece of crap, and I will never forget it. From now until doomsday I will tell all my friends and family not to buy Hoover products. In the meantime, how am I going to make this crummy adapter work?Sylvia in Tennessee

I love my portapower vacuum for use on wood floors. The reusable bag that comes with it works great. However, it can be a bit messy to empty and dog hair sticks to the inside. The reusable bag is best emptied outside vigorously. The disposable bags made for this vac are effective and clean. They can easily be reused as well and don't have the problem of having hair stick to them. However, due to the design the fill up and clog quickly, so best to change or empty them on a regular basis (you'll notice the decreased suction when they are full).
