The wires came pre-stripped ends, with shrink protecting them. Hard to solder without magnification but doable, brought back my 8G of songs. Unit is an old favorite Clip.

This worked perfectly as a drop-in replacement for my old, worn out Sansa Clip Plus battery. Other reviewers said they peeled back the label to find the capacity was lower than stated, but I did not try this because I only care about having a working device. One thing to note is that the leads are covered in black shrink tubing. There is nothing alarming about this—just carefully pull it off to reveal some pre-stripped and tinned wire leads that are ready to solder to the board. How To Guide: Remove any microSD cards first; if one is stuck in the slot due to a swollen battery, use tweezers. Use a guitar pick to move around the edges of your Clip Plus to open it up, unhooking plastic tabs as you go. The rear cover might catch on the USB port, so watch for that. An adhesive pad will be holding the old battery down to the board, just gently pry it up or work some string or fishing line under and through the adhesive. You can then do what I did and snip each of the three battery wires and (safely) dispose of the battery. At this point, I used desoldering braid to remove the old solder and wire scraps, noting the wire colors. Then it's simple to solder the new battery leads to the pads. I added a padded adhesive square to the battery to be as close to stock as possible. My Clip Plus is up and running Rockbox like a champ now.

Easily soldered this into a Philips GoGear Vibe model sa1vbe04k/17. It will also fit into a Philips GoGear SA3025/37, though it is a little bit trickier to tuck it under the circuit board. Don't worry about having to lift its circuit board a wee bit more. The outside case will still snap back together just fine. This battery works great, and will restore all these tiny MP3 players to like-new condition.

I peeled off the label on the "290mAh" battery and found that 250mAh was printed underneath! That means it has 14% less capacity. That may or may not be a big deal, but it's the principle of the matter. It's unethical to slap a label on a smaller battery and try to pass it as a bigger one. It's also not a 323036 battery like the original, but rather a 332832 which is physically smaller, as some other reviewers pointed out. (In my picture, my original battery seems to have a little swelling, which makes sense since it could no longer hold a charge, so the thickness wasn't uniform anymore, but you can still clearly see the difference in length.)All that having been said, I decided to put 2 stars instead of 1 because technically it did work in my Sansa Clip+, and it was able to charge and record FM music with sound through the headphones for about 6 hours. So the battery works, just know that you're getting a smaller capacity battery than the original.

Tried to fix my Sansa clip mp3 it turned on but this battery’s wires just split and cut and Came off the soldered points. Don’t recommend this but I did order a new one will update when I try to install again.

This appears to be a good battery, but it doesn't fit my clip jam. I couldn't find any mention of the clip jam battery dimensions, so I took a chance and it's about 1/8" (3mm) too wide. I tried to get it to fit and in the process damaged the battery.

I installed this in my many years old Sansa Clip Zip. After getting the unit opened, it was not terribly difficult to install, although you must be comfortable with a soldering iron in order to install it. Once installed I charged the battery and am noticing two issues. First, the battery has trouble charging to 100%, as shown on the battery info reading under Settings->Info. Even after charging overnight, with the player still on charger it will show 100%, but then immediately drop to 88% after removing the charging cable. After keeping it on the charger a few hours longer it finally took enough charge to display 100% after removing the charging cable. Second, I am getting only about 9 hours of battery life after charging it fully. (I've measured the battery life after a couple of charge/discharge cycles.) Others have mentioned battery life closer to 15 hours, so I am not sure if I got a bad or old battery. Nonetheless, I am getting a longer battery life than my old original battery but only by a couple of hours - nowhere near what I was getting when the Clip Zip was brand new. So now that it is installed I'll just keep it and use it until it wears down, then make the decision whether to replace the battery again or buy myself a new MP3 player. I did want to keep my old Clip Zip though since it works just fine aside from the battery life.

Had nothing to lose on my old Zip. Old battery held 0 charge. Getting the case open was difficult and messy (a thin guitar pick was the best tool I found), but doable with care. The biggest trick was using a small soldering iron to loosen the old battery wires and connect the new wires. An initial start up and connect to computer with case open looked good so I closed it up. Then when I closed the unit and tried to use it things got wonky, wouldn't start, wouldn't connect to computer. I believe I had the problem was solder/flux bleeding across connections in the tight space. So I opened the unit back up and resoldered one connection and carefully scraped/cleaned between connections. Voila! The old Zip was revived for 1/3 the price of the newer models which, by all the reviews, don't work half as well as the old Clip Plus or Zip. I've been using it for a couple months now and it seems to hold a decent charge and function well.
