I needed to replace an existing pocket door latch that was painted over and beat up. Door notch was already cut to the same dimensions, so it was an easy replacement. Swapping out the new latch took a few minutes and looks 100% better.

Watched a youtube video on how to install it in a door. Obviously, I needed some tools from the store to cut the hole, but if you already have a hole, this is super easy to install!

This product looks like what I ordered, but the quality is not a good as I had hope. The finger well is very shallow and makes pulling the door shut at the last cm very tough (I use the hook on the inside of the hardware to pull it the majority of the way). The thumb turn to lock it is also wiggly and loose. Just doesn't feel newly installed or sturdy.

This works fine, but pay attention to the directions, and don't cut the door any bigger than necessary. And the general problem (as I've learned from others) is that the little locking handle/knob is hard to do, the sloping edges don't give enough grip to push the door the last two inches to close, and the locking know is too close to the door frame. But these problems are common to _all_ standard mechanisms so I can not fault this device.A friend suggested that I cut a finger grip into the door a couple of inches from the edge. That's on my list of things to do.

Good quality. First, the specified cutout needs to be precise, very square and true to the surface of the door. The cutout creates the recess that the leading edge of the lock fits into the door. Also, need to drill out a hole in the back of the cutout for the locking mechanism to move. Use the same 15/16 bit and drill it about 1/2". Lock should move ok. Don't forget to loosen the two phillips screws. This allows the assembly to expand to fit your door. Then tighten when finished. The door must fit very flush with the jamb when closed. Otherwise lock will not catch in the latch plate. The latch plate requires careful positioning. Good luck but a very nice product after it is installed.

Good quality for the price. Paid $11 CDN for it summer 2019. Purchased the oiled bronze finish model to match the existing house hardware and it's a good match.Only reason for not giving 5 stars is the instructions should have suggested pre-drilling the screw holes, as the screws are quite soft and subject to round out and scar the finish as I did with one you can see in the picture. Other than that, the instructions were easy to follow and installation was completed in about half an hour. I should mention the instructions we're a bit on the small font size. The height of the hole you have to cut is 2 & 1/4 inches and the depth is 1 & 3/4 of an inch.

Good quality replacement for older pocket door hardware. They did require a bit of fiddling to make the locks work. Eventually we just gave up since no one in our house uses the pocket door locks.Pros:Pretty much plug compatible with the 20 year old units we removedLook greatCons:Could not get the lock to work consistently
