I think these are great for someone who doesnt want to add an ugly case to a nice slim laptop. I just purchased a Microsoft Surface laptop 2024 (15in) and I bought this sticker skin decal with the intention of adding some protective layer underneath on over the arm rest area of my laptop to protect from scratches.One thing to note is that the fit or alignment of the decal is not 100% perfect. You will run into issues like getting the perfect alignment and leaving really small spaces exposed on the edges. It took me many tries to place the decal onto the back of the computer, and although it wasn't perfect it's barely noticeable.I grabbed the black colored decals and other reviewers complained that the decal was very sparkly, however, the black colored decal has a nice matte finish texture. It is also smooth to the touch and easy to peel back.So, I would say it's functional in protecting your laptop from scratches, especially in the arm rest area. I have many long sleeve shirts and jackets with buttons at the end of sleeves and it always worried me of scratching my laptop.

So, some good and some bad here.First, I like the idea of a cover that isn't a thick snap on kinda thing (which most of them are). This is thin and doesn't really add to the thickness or anything, which is a plus. Application was surprisingly easy, and I found the logo cutout to be very precise. However, this thing is WAY more "sparkly" or "glittery" than the pictures make it out to be. I was going for something with some texture, but not something that looks like a glittery case. Additionally, the overall sizing is slightly short of the whole laptop dimension. See photos.
