1st pic natural light, 2nd pic is overhead lighting. This spread came earlier than I expected and it came as described. I'm using it as a wall hanging so the scent that other reviewers described didn't bother me. Although if I was using it as a bed spread I'd definitely wash it.The fabric is sturdy, but not thick. It almost feels like it's lightly coated with wax, but it doesn't affect the flexibility. It's not soft, and I would think that it'd be kinda itchy on the skin. There's some loose thread on the hemmed edges, and some speckling and skid mark stains. I suspect from ink or from the packaging process. Overall the "flaws" don't bother me, and I don't notice them unless I'm looking right at them.I feel like I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of this. I'm basically using it as a substitute for wallpaper to liven up my office space. If I was using it as a bed spread I'd probably be a little disappointed because it's just not very soft compared to similar Indian cotton textiles I have.

Nice big piece, for light bedspread or furniture throw. As other reviewers have noted, it has an odor when first opened, and needs a wash-and-dry before use. I used vinegar, as other reviewers have suggested, and and didn't notice any fading; it held up perfectly. The colors are brilliant, and will be equally nice as the piece fades, as I'm sure it will.

This is a nice lightweight bedcover, replacing an old and heavy bedspread. It is made in India, and all cotton. Of note, there was an odd odor to the fabric, so we washed it with some white vinegar to set the colors, and dried with a fabric softener sheet. The odor mostly resolved after the one wash/dry cycle.

The material for supposedly being cotton is very strange. It has a "shine" to it. It was not what I wanted at all, nor expected. The colors are great but there is something wrong with the heft, the ink, and the overall depiction of this on the website.

Absolutely dissatisfied! While I understand that a Bedspread is normally thinner than a comforter or quilt, this item is a sorry excuse for any cover to put on a bed. It's nothing but a piece of material ! No backing, no filling, just a thin piece of material. The pattern is nice, but that's it! Didn't want to go through the hassle of returning with no receipt and I don't keep email on my phone, only my laptop. So I wasted a gift card on a product that's a joke.

I didn't review this bedspread when I first received because I almost sent it back. The awful odor of the the dyes used was overpowering, but the print was so pretty that I figured it might be worth washing by itself two or three times. First time, I added vinegar to the wash to keep dyes from running. Second and third times, I used a SHOUT Color Catcher towelette -- that's what it took to neutralize ts odor neutral and make it my favorite summertime bed covering. One caveat: I wouldn't send it as a gift to anyone who wasn't patient, but I am very glad I did not send it back in haste.
