Like it. Be careful not to overload the pressure when crimping. When the dies close up, that is all you need.Excellent, just grease the bearings from the start! Very nice product!! Very good value for the money.

I have a project I'm doing that I needed the ability to crimp the pins for an Anderson 175 amp gray connector. I'm using a fine stranded 6 gauge wire with a 2-4 gauge pin. I used the 2 gauge crimp adapters and this made a solid crimp. I could not pull the wire out so no need to solder as a backup connection. FYI - Do not mix Anderson connector colors.

Bought this as a used item specifically to make up a set of 2/0 AWG battery cables for a set of 3 x Lithium 12v 260ah batteries I used wirefy Copper lugs which came complete with heat shrink sleeves. The tool was excellent and made easy work of crimping these heavy cables. I found as you get to near full compression of the lug, the trick is to use short strokes on the pump handle to complete the crimp.Excellent tool. The tool dies are not quick to change but that is really no disadvantage as I tend to be making batches of one type. The included dies are great and go all the way up to 4/0 AWG.Highly Recommended

Overall very good product. I like the way the piston retracts by itself once you turn the valve to the on (loosen) position. Unlike the "bolt cutter" style manual crimpers, this one doesn't need as much space to operate, which is why I went with hydraulic. This could be a factor for people working on boats, RV's, etc. in close quarters. If you're doing 200 crimps a day, you probably need something better. For the serious DIY individual, this is more than satisfactory. I am using it to crimp 2/0 (very large) 12v battery cable terminals and it has plenty of compression power to do the job. As others have stated, the case is good quality but oddly does not have enough slots for all the dies it comes with, so there are about a half a dozen just rattling around loose in the case. I suppose that's better than too few dies. Dies are stamped with sizes but some of the stampings are not deep enough making them a bit difficult to read.

What you should know:1) I performed about 30 crimps on 4/0 cable.2) I performed about 10 crimps on #6 cable2) The dies are far from perfect and the labeled size may be wrong. I had to use the 3/0 dies for the 4/0 lugs. No big deal, just make sure you are getting a really well formed crimp.3) Great selection of dies, this is why i chose this brand over the other value crimpers.4) Always aggressively test your crimps after completion, until you know your tool or know what a good crimp looks like.5) Included was a spare set of o-rings for rebuild.6) The handle may be a little on the weak side, but it didn't fail or bend.7) The storage case is great.8) I have large manual quick cable crimpers that goto 4/0, after using I prefer the hydraulic ones.Overall, a great value for the price. I would purchase again.
