This was really fun to put together and mount on the wall. The directions are not too helpful, look at the picture of it and put it together that way.The pipe will not tighten perfectly where you want it to be tight, but once its entirely assembled and mounted that no longer becomes a problem. However when trying to mount the entire thing to the wall, its like trying to mount jello.Someone suggested pre-mounting the bottom shelf separately (then taking it back down to put the entire shelf system together again), so that when you go to mount the entire thing, you can quickly get the bottom shelf in because the wall mount holes are ready. This became super helpful since I installed it alone.This is in no way a simple project. Meaning, it doesn't go together like a piece of Ikea furniture. Because these are threaded pipes, it is quite wonky until the boards are in place and its on the wall.Absolutely loved putting this puzzle together, and am quite happy with the final project. The shelves are even level.Give yourself a few hours to do this, and if you have an extra pair of hands, you will appreciate them. I would say if you aren't handy, have someone else do it.

Looks excellent in our wood accented living room. Didn't have space for a bar this was compromise with spouse.A bit hard to build and pieces need to be oriented but very sturdy when complete and can hold many bottles. Conversation piece for company

Not for the weak of heart! If you don't consider yourself "handy" give this a pass as the construction and installation isn't straight forward or easy. You need at least advanced Ikea level techniques! For the DIYers out there it is an interesting challenge, especially if you choose to put the tap on the other side from the instructions like I did! Holding the image up in front of a mirror helped! I very nearly went to a hardware store and bought my own fittings but when I priced it out, this save many dollars!Aligning the parts was the hardest part, and I consider myself better than average at DIY. I aligned each shelf separately, then spent a LOT of time aligning the center connecting tube. A big hint is to screw in the long tubes and use them for leverage when building each shelf, then using the shelves as leverage to align the connecting tube. All the while constantly checking against the wall to make sure the flanges sit flat. I mounted the lower shelf on it's own to ensure it was plumb and level, then took it down and completed the construction before marking any more holes. I used plumber's Teflon tape on a couple of joints that were loose and ended up with only one loose connection but that ultimately made it easier to install so it worked out okay. Pre-installing the lower shelf made it much easier to mount on the wall and mark the upper mounts. I made sure that the two "loose" mounts (the side with no vertical tube) had at least two screws screwed directly into a stud on each flange. I used 3" screws so this shelf isn't going anywhere soon! There was a lot of sag on the side with no tube, which made it difficult to mark the screw holes as you need to put the shelf under quite a lot of tension to do so. However, that tension also make it extremely strong and secure. The rest of the screws are to hold the shelf firmly against the wall and fill the holes in the flanges. Except for those 4 screws I used the screws that came with the kit, but used my own drywall inserts. I managed to install all by myself but another pair of hands would have made it much easier. I also had to fiddle and adjust the prongs on the stemware bracket, but that was trivial. The materials seem to be of decent quality and the wood, while I suspect isn't solid wood, looks suitably distressed. It's a flat surface and works as you would expect a shelf would work. Having only one mounting clip per bracket seemed cheap. Doubling up would make the shelfs that much more secure.Overall I'm quite happy with this purchase so give it a 4 out a 5. I've ended up with an interesting Industrial looking shelf that I'm using as a cocktail shelf. It fits my form follows function philosophy perfectly. I would buy a similar product again.

Great shelves. I had read some other reviews and the instructions are a little unclear so definitely put it together off the wall before mounting anything and putting it together

Mounting it was difficult by myself since it’s awkward to hold up and mount in position keeping all parts in place. It would have saved a ton of time if it came with a paper template for drilling holes to ensure proper bracket spacing to keep everything square and level. Looks good now that it’s up and holds quite a bit of weight.
