I have purchased many of these for family and friends. They are on the side of the refrigerator so they can be grabbed quickly and used.

I purchased this because I have read extensively how this simple fire blanket can save your life and/or your home. I plan to gift my family members each with the fire blanket. It's easy to use and can be done by any member in your family young or old. I am so glad that I have purchased this and have placed it in a central place that is easy to get to in case of an emergency.

I bought this for protection in case of a fire. I have an old fire extinguisher that I have forgotten how to use because I have never used it. My son was cooking steaks for the family when a fire sparked under the floor of the oven. I'm so glad we had these blankets! We smothered the flames with the blankets. It took awhile because we could not get to the flames directly because they were under the floor of the oven. Eventually the flames were extinguished. There were a lot of smoke but the stove didn't suffer any damage. There was not clean up and I was able to use the oven the next day. If I had use the foam extinguisher there would have been extensive cleanup or probably I would have been shopping for another stove.

I foolishly set a box of matches on my wood stove after lighting it. I was across the room when I heard a whoosh and looked to see a matchbox in flames on my slate hearth. I thought for a second I could put it out some other way, then remembered the fire blanket, brought it over and instantly opened it and threw it over the matchbox. The flames took maybe a long 15 seconds to go out completely, but I had no doubt they would. Shook out and refolded the fire blanket, which was slightly stained but perfectly intact. I hate to think of the mess I'd have had with an extinguisher. Probably would have ruined nearby rug. Others have mentioned fiberglass: no, you probably shouldn't run your hand firmly over and over the blanket, but I didn't feel the need to put gloves on to use it or shake/brush off the ashes. Very glad to have this and will consider gifting one to family.

I have bought several of these pack for myself and friends for gifts. The blankets are reusable, easy to clean store and use. One of my close friends had a grease fire at her home, when she took the skillet of hot burning grease out of the house she spilled it all over her hand and had to get skin grafts. This simple and inexpensive item would have saved her a lot of pain. (She was the first one to get one of these from me!)They are WAY more cheaper than the ones you see advertised, and work just as well. I have on for the house and one for my RV camper.

Unfortunately, we had an opportunity to use this fire blanket. I purchased it in 2018 and found ourselves in need of it today in 2024. Thankfully we purchased it when we moved into our home. Yes, we did something stupid. . .we were trying to keep pizzas from getting cold while we waited for our company to arrive. We placed the pizzas in the oven in the boxes on the lowest heat setting. The box caught on fire. We open the oven with flames coming out. We threw the blanket over the pizza box and the fire went out. We then carried the pizza box outside and sprayed it with our fire extinguisher for extra measure. Everyone needs a fire blanket in there home. It did what it was supposed to do quickly. The fire instantly went out, nobody got burned and nothing in our home was ruined. I think this is going to my gift to friends and family when they move into a home, for birthdays and Christmas

The size I bought is big. I have it hanging in my basement way by the kitchen. Everyone should have one in their home. Bought one for a house warming gift and she loved it.
