There is no c clip on the end of it, so I have to fish it out once. It does function properly and fit. The old one probably just needed to be cleaned, but I didn't want to take the chance, since I was in there anyway. To do it, I unbolted the front cross member and hood latch support bar, released the applicable wiring harness and vacuum lines, pulled the intake duct, and then removed the intake. For installation, make sure to turn it about 20 degrees counterclockwise before you slide it in, then turn it to the correct position. This gets the tab in the right place. It was an easy job. I wish reaching the oil filter was this straight forward.
