I have ordered from different companies and this package of crushed coral. I guess people use it for biological filtration. I just scattered on the bottom of my saltwater tank. Many of them do have a gray color rather than the bright white that you would expect however the bright white ones have been bleached so don’t fool yourself when these grayish ones are put in the tank they Appear white after being wet. I ordered a package from someone else for $14 and there was only like five pieces in it. This $20 bag comes with a nice filtration bag with a zipper and more than a handful of pieces.

They are pretty good size pices. They arrived unbroken due to the good packaging. As said they need to be soak & washed before adding to tank. My mystery snails seem to really like them.

I couldn’t believe how many pieces came in the bag! And for the price!? This will last for years! It even had a little sea shell in it!

Quite honestly, it was a lot more than I expected. I placed some in 3 of my tanks - and still have a lot left over. Just watch your TDS - my bad, I didn’t realize just how easily they would drive the TDS so much in soft water.

Add stability to my tank and raised my pH a little. Put some in my canister filter and it helps hold bacteria and raise pH but keep it stable.
