Mark the position to be cut with chalk
Use scissors to cut off the excess along the mark
Turn the whole pair of trousers inside and outside, and then fold up the cut area
Dip the adhesive tape in water to avoid shrinkage
Take out the trouser opening tape, the white one is the adhesive strip, and stick it to the seam between the folded trouser leg and the pants
Use an iron to iron the pasted area.

The white part of this tape is supposed to stick when you iron it on. I had to use a completely different brand hem tape under this one which defeated the purpose ʻ

It is strong enough for denim hem. Have not washed yet

I was able to apply it without an issue. I wet it, blotted off the extra water and ironed. I didn’t wash it afterwards, so I can’t say how long it will hold to the fabric. Looking at the outside of the hem, it is noticeable that there is something behind the hem area. There are no lumps or bumps, it just looks like the material is thickened. I am sure I will need a hem repair or quick fix in the future where this tape will be handy.

This iron on hem tape was easy to use and washed and dried beautifully. I would not use this on thin fabric as you would see the bulk of it I think. If I held the iron on too long the glue did start to seep and pull up on the iron but if I followed instructions it was fine. Very happy with product for what I will use it for.
