Floyd Rose? Wasn't he a gambling pitcher or something? Twang! That was clueless me breaking a string, first thing, because I didn't know to loosen the nut bolts! Don't twist those tuners on top till you do...but the little ones on the bridge are fine to turn. Once up to speed, setup was easy and.....I like it! No sharp frets. The FR is not as annoying to work with as it seems, and really holds well. Very clean look to the guitar. Thanks for another nice one, IYV!

The guitar is just ok. If you plan to upgrade parts then it is an alright starting point. The finish is a matte black, however the majority of the top has significant orange peel that was not properly finished. The Floyd Rose has a lot of stuff built up in front of the saddles. Not sure if this was an old part or possibly my guitar was a return from someone else. The trem holds tune ok unless you use it. It will not return to zero pitch and will be sharp. The pickups do have a nice sound. However the bridge model seems to have tarnish on the cover as opposed to the neck pickup. Again makes me consider this item was returned. The bridge pickup ring has significant warpage. The controls seem to be for Neck volume, Bridge volume and master Tone. However, the middle control knob, for the bridge pickup does Not function at all. The bridge pickup is always on full. It will not reduce in volume or hit zero. The pot is bad and will need to be replaced. The tuning pegs feel relatively smooth. There are much better, but the point is moot once you lock the nut.I was excited to get this and did not have high hopes. But I didn't expect the instrument to be in such bad shape for new. If you don't mind putting in the elbow grease and throwing some money at it for parts and repairs then it could be a nice playing guitar when finished.Again, possibly mine was a return or overlooked. There was not any quality control in this model if it truly was a new shipment.

This is my fifth IYV guitar. It plays and sounds better than any of the rest. Some reviews mention needing work, mine played great out of the box. Frets are level, truss rod adjustment is good. Intonation is slightly off, but not enough to notice without a chromatic tuner.

My fourth IYV. All amazing for the price. This one has a few flaws, but is well worth it.It’s going to need more work than the other ones. Nothing major, but truss rod adjustment, intonation and some work on the locking nut.Like all my IYV guitars, you would guess they were $500 to $600.

Great guitar.Plays great, looks fantastic, neck is very good.Love the look of the fret board.Nice light weight. Two reasons It is not a 5, are the pickups are a bit dark sounding , and the tuners have a bit of a dead spot in them. What I mean is, when going from loosen to tighten it has a delay.Same as going from tighten to loosen. Not a game changer, does seem to stay in tune, non the less.Seems like more of a negative review than a positive, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this guitar.

Love the guitar and I used it to lay tracks. I love whammy bar. I am 69 And I've owned a lot of Guitars in my days. There were more flaws in my Gibsons and Fenders. Than I ever found in any of the IYVs I bought. And this satin black LP with a Floyd Rose whammy bridge. is no exception. I paid less for my 69 Les Paul than I did for this one. It was under 200 with case. I had to do a lot of work to make it a bad ass guitar. The IYV came bad ass out of the box. All I did was drop the action on it. To fit a old mans playing style. This guitar did not slow this old man hands down a bit. Gibson and Fender use to make guitars for musicians now they make them for rich collectors. They are a greed driven market. And it don't make sense to play a 200 dollar gig with a 5000 dollar guitar. That is a true definition of stupid. Buy IYV

Bought this knowing it would likely need work, and that it wasn't going to be the best. Still shocked just how rough it was. Out of the box, was unplayable. Floyd Rose wasn't set up correctly, many dead frets. The nut slot was cut too low, so first fret was literally unusable. After about 3 hours of work, it plays and sounds great, but to pay someone to do the work you're doubling the price of the guitar. The good: solid build and feel. Neck is a nice shape.Real Floyd Rise special.Wiring is good, using Korean made mini pots.Pickups sound good. The bad: many, MANY finish flaws. Including scratches, bumps under the surface, and major gouges in the fretboard.Frets themselves are extremely rough feeling and fairly inconsistent.Nut slot cut too low (fixable, but requires work)Tuning keys are rough, and one was missing the nylon o-ring.Glue on fretboard.Inconsistent binding.Unplayable without hours of work.Even after putting in hours of work, I may return it. It plays fast and sounds good, but the many flaws make it tough to recommend.

Once again IYV put out an Excellent quality instrument at a reasonable price. This is my 5th IYV guitar and I don't know if it's just me or not but in my opinion they keep getting better and better! This time it's an amazing Les Paul style guitar with a Floyd Rose bridge! A really sharp expensive high end looking guitar that intonates very well! I minor set up out of the box and that's it. It stays in tune very well. The overall sound and playability of this instrument 🎸 is amazing, what can I say! I don't normally write reviews but this is an exception! This is definitely my go to guitar right now and I can't put it down I Love it so much!! IYV you've never let me down! Keep up the good work!!👍🙂

There was a lot of fret buzzing especially at the first and 10th fret. The frets have sharp ends and bumpy unfinished. Needs polishing and removal of bumps. The electronics is not like a regular LP with 4 controls. It has 3. At clean amp it works fine as is. At distortion, it hums at lower volumes and need lowering of treble. At center position is quieter but needs to be at full volume when set to treble or rhythm position. 2 strings came broken and intonation was slightly off. Tuners work fine but not the smoothest. One has some rough turn but the rest are okay. Paint and bindings have flaws but overall ok. I put in about two days of work to get it to work ok but it’s not flawless after fixing. It’s got a sitar sound at first fret still and action is still a little high but it’s playable now. I like the design of the body in it ergonomic design. high frets are reachable and body contour is comfortable. It’s fun to play as the Floyd doesn’t go out of tune as much as the Wilkinson bridge on another IYV guitar. I like this guitar but it took a lot of work. Definitely not for beginners but good for seasoned guitarist who know how to repair guitars. Definitely a fixer-upper new guitar. Cannot play this out of the box. Many IYV guitars are that way; they need TLC to get them to work ok. If you like to tinker this is the make to go with but if you need it to play out of the box then go with something else. Good luck.

Came refurbished. Dirty rusted frets, dirt and dust inside Floyd rose crevices, uneven binding, scratched body, and scuffed pickups. Two of the tuners do not work. Avoid the headache. I was looking for an ESP Eclipse clone but this was atrocious. If you want a similar guitar with better specs and MUCH better quality control, I would say purchase a Harley Benton SC1000.

I will be posting some photos soon... but let me just stop anyone who says this guitar "needs work" to be good enough.I own over 12 IYV branded guitars, and let me just tell you something that you may not know...The company IYV have been building guitars in Vietnam since 1994. It is owned by a Korean man and all of the parts are sourced from Korea. There is no Chinese cheap crap on these guitars. All of the hardware is sourced from Korea which makes pretty decent hardware these days and is the same stuff youll find on most guitars under $1000.IYV only started putting their name on the headstocks around 2015. Before that, and still to this day, IYV builds guitars for many well known brand names. This black guitar with the Floyd Rose Special bridge might look familiar to some people and thats because they have been building it for a long long time, under a different brand name. It's actually an LTD with a few changes. Not make people know how much experience and worldwide brand name guitars IYV builds. That is why the price is so good for a guitar that is of this caliber.I don't care if you're buying a $3000 Fender or Gibson, or a $1000 Epiphone, or a $200 IYV or Monoprice... ALL, I repeat, ALL guitars need a proper setup from the factory. In the case of the more expensive guitars like a Gibson or Fender, the seller/store/retailer usually does a quick setup for the buyer. It doesn't take long when you've been setting up guitars for years. I have friends that work in music stores that can do a decent setup and intonation check in 20 to 30 minutes. Amazon is not equipped to do setups. They buy Fender guitars direct from Fender and sell them as-is with no check-over or setup. This is why if you look at the Fender reviews on Amazon, for guitars like the Mexican made Stratocaster, youll see setup snobs blaming fender for not setting up their guitars. Think people! It matters where you buy them!Anyway Im getting carried away.. I will be doing a full review with photos on this ILP-400FR soon and will update it.SO far so good. Its unreal to me that you can get this much guitar for such little money.
