Our company, Noguchi Kumataro Tea Garden (Noguchitokutarosyoten Co., Ltd.), was founded in 1874 in Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture by Kumataro Noguchi, the first generation of tea growers, and we are now in our fifth generation.
Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, has long flourished as a tea production area in the northern part of Japan, and its tea is now called Sashima-cha. Sashima-cha became the first Japanese tea exported to the United States in 1859 through negotiations with Townsend Harris, the first U.S. Consul General in Japan.
We will create a new tea culture while carefully preserving the traditions and techniques that have been cultivated over five generations.

It's a tea cannister made in Ibaraki prefecture Japan. I used to live there, so having this is a fond memory of my time in the Japanese countryside.

My daughter brought me green leaf tea from Taipei. This is the best container for it. And it looks great on my counter. The tea is fresh and lovely. All around excellent

I bought this ornate tea holder to carry loose tea to my workplace. It does a fine job storing and transporting tea. I get a lot of compliments on how beautiful this canister looks and I will be purchasing a couple of more in several different patterns. All the Best
