This is an apartment dwellers life saver! Now with many folks working from home (due to COVID), I got noise complaints about my saxophone practices. This gadget allows me to stifle the noise, by practicing with the mouth piece only. No, it doesn't beat full fledged blowing and fingering practices. But I can blow long tones until my hearts content, when I can't do full sessions. I keep it and a mouth piece in my purse. I pull it out almost any where. And there's adapters for my tenor, soprano, and clarinet. P.S. I can now blow a C major scale with this gadget on my mouth piece alone.

I got home excited for this (because I'm a band director trying to improve at all instruments) opened the box and it had two connectors but NO mute, dvd or booklet. This is gamble if you purchase it..

Prevents family and friends from turning into axe wielding murderers, and also saves your own ears.It makes practicing with just the mouthpiece comfortable (and even fun). Spending the money on it also motivates you to use it (using the sunk costs fallacy to your advantage!).I've improved a lot just from using this on a couple of long solo car trips I had to take recently. It looks a bit like an e-cigarette contraption, so other drivers probably thought I was vaping, eeeuw!

As a fairly new SAX player i needed something to help with my embouchure and control. This sax silencer does the job. Plus it is a lot quieter than using the mouthpiece alone. The instructional book is ok. I use it daily. It is a little pricey. I know a reduced price would bring in more customers.

It is certainly a very useful practice tool. It does damp down the loud sound from the mouthpiece. But for the price, it might be designed to be more effective (perhaps longer or more layered tubes?). Right now, it still sounds louder than practicing with the mouthpiece and neck. Even though practicing without the neck could make a difference, not sure the item is well worth the price.

Was staying in a condo and needed to practice my exercises. I didn’t want to disturb the neighbors while I was there, so I ordered this. It worked great. Allowed to to practice without bothering anyone.

LikePortable: You can take this anywhereTechniques: There are some good training rules, once you get past the personal viewsKeep clean: Very easy to keep cleanDislikePrice: This is not worth the 40-60 Bucks.Audio Content: Who in the world uses a CD stillPitch: Apartment neighbors can hear this still, its not about silence, it about the pitch and Hz.Training material: Old long written theories and very boring to read might I add, Just get on the do's and don't cat. This lecture alone is worth the return.I would not recommend this at the price it is being sold for, maybe $35 and that is just pricing it for the cause. This would be great for someone giving lessons to a student for warm up. Other than that it is hard to tell someone to work embouchure when they cannot understand the affects of tone. Why two stars, Over priced$$$, Still will need a place way from others, too long to read (TLTR) and have to find a CD player. With this price it should come with a tuner. They recommend a piano like people are walking around with those. I would suggest if you have IOS use garage band.
