It fits perfectly just like an original Canon hood and there's a detent to keep it in place, but remember to take it off if you're going to use your camera's pop-up flash, because it will cause a BIG shadow on your photos.

Sturdy material. When facing forward, lens hood fits well, and is snug. When turned around for storage, fit is a bit of a challenge and takes a few attempts to have it fit properly on the lens. I have a canon 10-18 mm. It tends to screw on crooked. Maybe because it’s new and needs time to wear first. Overall, I’d recommend.

Lens hood as described...and as with previous JJC lens hood purchases, it's a perfect fit to protect the lens or reversed for camera bag storage.
