Swapped out my old acoustic tuners that were becoming tight, and were cheap to begin with. These were easy to install, look good and operate fine. They're not the end all be all. But for my cheap guitar, they're more then enough.

This is my first set of locking tuners. I really bought these just looking for a quality replacement for a worn Epiphone I was restoring. These far exceeded my expectations.1. Locking tuners are awesome.2. The fit and finish is excellent. Not poor Chinese electroplating.3. The tuning stability is excellent. My old tuners were actually decent, but these are definitely better. After a week of hard bends and strumming I haven't had to really mess with these at all.

Cheap locking tuners, eh? What's not to love?First, I'm happy with this things. They work.Don't judge. I tried putting one set on a Martin backpacker. They don't fit. And while this may be due to my lack of knowledge (I have never replaced tuners before, tho I've taken apart a few, for important reasons.) Again, don't judge. No biggie, the Martin's tuners are good.So I move on to my Epi Casino. They fit, but the screws holes don't line up, but I have a drill! And we come to the other thing I dislike. The base plate is freaking thin, and the down turned edge is not smooth, so I scratched the back of the headstock when I installed them. I'll admit I could have been more observant or careful.Good things; They are smooth, it's much nicer to tune now. They are locking!!! This is a game changer. Really. I mean just locking tuners. I don't hate this was my first set.I read stuff about the color, but I love it, and it looks smashing on a black guitar (then again, it's the only one that I put them on). It reminds me of absinthe, milky, soft color. Also I had no problem with the treble strings. I saw some had trouble, but not I. It maybe a QC thing. For perspective, getting these led me to buy locking tuners for my tele, and the Fender branded are nicer. Still, these ain't bad.TLDR;Nice tuners. Minor issues and nitpicking. Love the color. They hold tune. May not fit some guitars, in spite of what the marketeers tell you. No issues holding the high strings.

Very solid, look great. Fit fine. I was unsure to go away from "factory" but these are pretty cool. I love the locking mechanism.

I finally installed my new keys and a TUSK Nut on my Epiphone Les Paul Special VE.Fits perfectly, right on without any modifications, just two new holes per key and that's it.Huge improvement on the sound and on the look also. I encourage everyone to make this easy and inexpensive change on a guitar under 500$.I've bought a... Graph Tech Tusq XL PreSlotted Guitar Nut - Black, 1 11/16", change yours if in plastic.By the way, it's also fit perfectly on a Les Paul Special II.

I found that they were hard to turn and there was about a 16th of an inch rotation play. But, taking the back pins out and adding some synthetic lubricant Grease spinning them all around softened it up and they turned very well. Couldn't do anything about the gearing 16th issue but they hold two and fairly well tuning up. Happy with them at this price

These tuners sit in the middle of quality and workmanship. Not terrible, but not great…for the price they do a reasonable job. I still suffer for some slippage issues which could be my bridge or neck instability so I’m not complaining. Just making observation.

These were actually vintage spec, so you will need bushings to fit it in a 10mm hole. The function of the locking screw and post is good. The post is thick enough that it holds all the strings securely. Never seems to get tight enough that it “stops” though. The function or the tuning key is very cheap feeling. Once string tension is applied they are very jumpy, not smooth at all.

Got these to replace the stock tuners in my Firefly 338 semi hollow. You will want to get the 10mm conversation bushings if your guitar has 10mm tuner holes as the bushings in this set are for Headstocks reamed to 8mm (I got the $6.99 KAISH brand ones in nickel to stay consistent with the brand in this instance). With a little sanding to clean up the holes In the headstock, I had to tap the 10mm bushings in with some force to get them fully seated nice and snug. Then I inserted the tuners and marked the screw holes since my Firefly’s stock tuners only used one screw. Drilled the new holes, screwed in the new tuners, and she was good to go.A little bit of work, but for the money, it is a welcome upgrade for a budget guitar and made a night and day difference. Highly recommend these as they are super smooth while turning yet firm with the gears. They look awesome and give my guitar a more vintage look that I’ve been into lately. If you are looking to upgrade a Firefly and are somewhat handy with tools, it shouldn’t be hard at all.If you aren’t and want a drop-in replacement, I would recommend looking elsewhere since there is some assembly required to get a good fit with their 338 models. Hope this helps!

I have been wanting locking tuners on my Les Paul for years but just couldn't justify spending $80 on some Grover Tuners to avoid the 20 second tune job ever 5 minutes of playing. Stumbled upon these and figured that I would try them out.Installation:I have a 1998 Epiphone Les Paul Semi-Hollow Body and the holes didn't line up perfectly but I would hardly blame that on the manufacturing process of the tuners. It was a simple fix on two of the tuners for holes not lining up. Simply put a dab of super glue into the old screw holes and sprayed them with a super glue accelerator that I have. Then drilled new holes on the of the tuners. The inner ring thing didn't fit quite as snug as the ones that were on so I said screw it and just kept the old ones in it. I'm sure once there was pressure from the strings being on they would be tight and not move but didn't want to spend the extra ten minutes gluing them in. Took about 15 minutes to install and put the strings through them.Function:The function on them is great. They are exactly what I was looking for. The tuning knobs are quite tight and don't turn as easy as the old ones but I think that was part of the problem with old ones as well. I used to have to tune up after every song and I tried these out for a half hour and they are still in tune now. Really kicking myself that I didn't look into something a decade ago. It actually makes me a little angry that manufacturers don't just put these on guitars with known problems like Les Paul's. I get that it's not a Gibson but one would think that spending $700 on a guitar they would have certain main functions of the guitar work properly. If I paid $26 for these it's really a shame that at their cost they don't spend the extra $5 to put them on.Conclusion:I would highly recommend these. Don't be worried about the price and the quality. They're inexpensive and function awesome!
