Step 1
Adjust the straps and buckles on the outside to fit your lower leg.

Adjust and tighten the top and bottom buckle to fit your leg.

Step 3
Thread the laces through the soles, adjust the hook and instep straps.

Adjust the waist buckle and hanging buckle to the appropriate size.

I bought these because I came close to getting bit by a diamondback rattlesnake. When I opened the box I tried them on, I then checked to see if my sharp tweezers would go through the thigh area. The sharp tweezers went through with ease. These will NOT protect your thighs from snake fangs. The company is saying that there is protection from the ankle to the thigh, don’t waste your money or time on these.

I live in a state where there are lots of snakes and even vegetation that can really ruin your day if you get into contact with it. If you need to be concerned about your safety, this is a great confidence builder right here. Very tough 1200d oxford material. Fits comfortably and it’ll stay on you too, because it comes with a belt with strong garters to hold them up. Rubber strap to fasten the bottom of it to your feet and shoes. Double buckle system paired with a strong velcro stripped back will keep these closed nicely. Also, I think the fact that these have a big cargo style pocket on each leg is a plus. Shinguards are nice. I do wish there was also some knee guards just in case you have to get down on your knees or you fall, since you’re wearing this getup anyway. Regardless, this is the best snake protection I have. (I have several pairs of the gaiters that go up to your knees. This is my first set that protect the thighs as well. Really happy I got this. They look cool in black. (What doesn’t? LOL)

Very nice!great fitthey are fairly heavy but once you're use to them its second nature to have them onvery comfortableeasy to set upill update the performance once i give them a solid use

These gaiters are relatively light-weight, allow you to move well, and also provide a lot of protection.I am very impressed by the quality of materials and design that went into these gaiters.I tested the product by trying to punch through them with a screwdriver & scissors- no visible signs whatsoever. So then I tried while wearing them with light pressure then leveling up to stronger force. Again these shined beautifully- no damage of any kind, and did not feel any impact against my legs. I absolutely would feel comfortable that these would protect me from punctures from animal bites or going through deep brush.The protection extends from mid thigh to below ankle. There is a small slit behind the knees to allow you to move freely (which I found quite easy to walk in them with near full mobility)Only downside I see of these gaiters is the top of the foot is uncovered. The same company sells gaiters that also provides protection to top of the foot. I don't understand why these gaiters which are more expensive removed this feature. If it had been included I would give five stars. Without it, I still feel like I have some vulnerability to my feet.Overall, this is a very well engineered product that should offer plenty of protection while still allowing good maneuverability. Less concerned about snakes when I walk in woods. Make sure your shoes are thick too.

So, my brother said that I should get some snake gaiters because where we were going to be hiking (in Arizona), there would be rattlesnakes. I did my research and got these gaiters, and he did his own research and got another type. We got together and compared the two sets of gaiters.Both are well made and seem to offer lightweight but strong protection from the ankle all the way up to the knee. The ones he bought offer more protection to the top of the foot, supposedly where your boot laces and the tongue of your hiking boots would be. I didn't feel that it was such a critical feature, and these gaiters do not offer protection on top of the foot like my brother's gaiters do.These gaiters do offer protection to the thighs though (while his did not). They probably wouldn't stop a rattlesnake strike to the thigh, as this material is not reinforced and seems to be a canvas material similar to jeans. My guess is that rattlesnakes don't tend to strike that high, and thus thighs don't tend to be targeted. So the additional thigh protection is probably intended to defend against brambles and damp brush. When my brother noted the added thigh coverage, he advised me that where we were hiking it was going to be really hot (like in the 90s) and the added thigh protection would simply make me hotter.Well, as it turned out, the area was actually unseasonably cold, and the gaiters would not be contributing to any heat exhaustion. In fact, we never even removed the gaiters from our backpacks. We had them as a precaution in case we thought we might need them, but we never ended up needing them. Both of us ended up returning the gaiters as soon as we returned from the trip.Despite never being used, I was still quite pleased with the quality and potential protection offered by these snake gaiters.
