Have done a few of the Katsura knife blank kits and was excited to see the new BBQ set. I was happy to see Katsura has continued their same quality with the new product as their past products. Balance, comfort, and fit of the knife and fork set was top notch as I had expected along with the other Katsura knife kits I have worked with in the past. I really appreciate the display boxes that Katsura includes with their knives as they make a beautiful gift for friends and family. As a hobbyist the price and quality of the Katsura knife blanks are always my go to, for my next project.

Received and just made the Katsura carving set (knife and fork). I must say I am greatly impressed and will be buying again soon. Set showed up in a beautiful gift box, perfect for presenting an heirloom quality gift. The steel used is substantially more stout than any other set I have previously made. I haven’t tested it yet on a real slab of meat, but I am positive the fork will easily handle a 20-25 roast or rack of ribs without the slightest deflection. The knife is razor sharp and will easily carve up anything I throw at it. Kit contains a beautiful matching set, with a full tang which increases the strength and easily allowed me to add custom wood scales to it. A feature which was very important to me, was the inclusion of a definitive bolster which allows me to butt my knife scales up to something tangible and elegant. All the rivets/screws are included for making a decorative set which is sure to be cherished by the recipient. I have several upcoming weddings I have been invited to, and these will make incredible homemade gifts from a woodworker to the new couple. You definitely won’t be disappointed in this set!
