They protect you from minor things. The don't really support anything and the mental in them is really thin and bends easy when impacted. They are ok but go a head and spend some money on something better that stabilizes your knee. You will be happy that you did. I have been using them for road protection for almost a year and you can see how dented they already are from the rocks and stuff that hit them.
