Works well over a wide heat range. Flows well, remains shiny.

Lower melt point than the cheaper solder I had before and adheres well to the wire I’ve been using for diy electronics

This solder is different than 60/40. It flows amazingly well, and it also flows very good on the awful tinned wire (silver colored tinned copper wire). I've tried several solders, and this is one of the best solder for actually soldering tin plated wire. This solder melts easier and is more sensitive to heat than 60/40 solder. The 63/37 solder is apparently easier to solder with, if you're soldering parts that move around, like wires on toggle switches, or little parts on through hole circuit boards, because the 63/37 solder goes straight to "hard" instead of going to the intermediate "gel phase." When you have a solder joint that gets bumped or moved during it's process of cooling and hardening, if you move the part during the "gel phase" with 60/40 it will create a potentially bad solder joint that might look normal but will be a "cold solder joint." Theoretically the 63/37 solder bypasses and cools faster, and consequently, it should be much less likely to create a bad solder joint on wiggly jiggly parts.I have found that the 63/37 solder really doesn't like high temperatures, it tends to repel a super hot soldering iron, and doesn't cling as easily to a hot iron, because it liquefies faster and just seems to prefer a lower temperature (good for sensitive small parts). This is outstanding solder it doesn't smoke much, and the extra flux (3.3%) allows it to flow out really good and make a full solder joint without needing flux.

Did what it was supposed to do. I was able to solder new caps perfectly

I probably will get a little thicker diameter next time. This is good for very small board repairs but it seems to really pay out when trying to solder on connector pins and terminal lugs.

This Kester 44 solder is a game-changer for anyone tired of struggling with cheap solder. Cheap solder might seem like a bargain, but it often leads to poor joints, frustration, and wasted time. This product, on the other hand, delivers clean, reliable solder joints every time. What I love most about this 3/4-ounce tube is that it lets you get your hands on premium-quality solder without breaking the bank. You don’t need to buy a massive spool if you only need a small amount for your projects, making it perfect for hobbyists or occasional repairs. The 63/37 composition is ideal for quick, solid joints, and the RMA rosin core ensures excellent flow and minimal cleanup. If you’re serious about your work, don’t skimp on solder—this is worth every penny! Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their soldering experience.

I’m not a professional with solder but will say this solder performed well for me. Very satisfied flows well and holds. What more can you ask I guess

I have been gradually working my way through a spool of (Rapid brand) solder I bought a long time ago in the UK. It was nice solder but I only have a few feet left. I have tried a couple of the Chinese solders and have been less than impressed. They are supposedly of similar composition put they just don't solder as nicely. They don't wet the joints well and seem to have a higher melting point. After looking around, this one seemed to have some good reviews. It's slightly thinner than my original solder which is what I was looking for as I'm starting to do more SMT stuff. Unfortunately, it's usually only available in a big spool but this company is cutting it down and selling it. Unfortunately, that pushes the price per lb up quite significantly. On the other hand, it would be something of a gamble to go for the bigger spool. So I decided to bite the bullet on this smaller package. The good news is that it's great. The solder goes on buttery smooth. It's at least of a similar quality to my old spool and maybe better. If I could roll back time, I'd go for the bigger spool but if your solder needs are modest, this may be the purchase for you.
